The return to around 3m should suit SAMUI who may prove the answer to this trappy contest. Sandor Clegane isn't the easiest to win with but is still classy and has a decent record fresh so he might be the one to give Gordon Elliott's charge most to do.

Timeform Comments

Buddy One (IRE)
Seems no better than useful these days but he posted a decent effort when third in a similar race at Galway (2¾m, soft, 7/1) 36 days ago and won't need to raise his game much more to play a leading role here.
Intense Approach
Useful winning hurdler/chaser at his best but has largely struggled since a Galway maiden chase success last summer. It remains to be seen whether a return to hurdling sparks an upturn in his fortunes.
Samui
Showed the benefit of a recent run on the level when second in a similar race at Down Royal (3m, good) in August. Not in quite the same form over shorter trips since but major player back around 3m.
Sandor Clegane (IRE)
Talented but ungenuine sort who took advantage of a good opportunity when gaining his first win since 2023 in a weak maiden chase at Down Royal in April. Respectable third in a novice chase at Killarney the following month. Reverts to hurdles on first run since. Capable fresh.
Senecia (IRE)
Smart performer on his day who proved at least as good as ever when making all in a Grade 3 chase at Killarney in May. Three lesser runs have followed and now reverts to hurdles for the first time in 2 years in a bid to bounce back.
