POETIC FOCUS was only narrowly denied in a similar race at Clonmel earlier this month and remains feasibly treated. She can go one better here. Granlahan and Another Challenge head the list of dangers.

Timeform Comments

Bossy Bird (IRE)
Shaped as if back in form when respectable fifth of 11 in handicap hurdle (11/1) at Ballinrobe (2¾m, good) 32 days ago. Still looking for first success, though.
Diamond Tipp (IRE)
Returned to form when second in a 2¼m Cork handicap hurdle in August but hasn’t backed that up in 4 starts since. Mark continues to ease, however.
Kazbek (IRE)
Remains a maiden and hasn't offered much in a couple of starts this season.
Le Roi Arthur (IRE)
Made the frame on second of 2 starts in points but gone backwards since his third on hurdling debut at Sligo last year. Tongue strap on first time.
Granlahan (IRE)
Gained reward for consistency when winning 15-runner handicap hurdle (10/11) at Fairyhouse (2m, good) 3 days ago. Carries 7-lb penalty for that success but must enter calculations
Poetic Focus (IRE)
Right back to best when close second of 15 in handicap hurdle over longer trip at Clonmel 12 days ago, going with enthusiasm. 3 lb higher now but looks sure to go well again.
Maxicourt (IRE)
Couple of good placed efforts this summer but was a bit below par at Navan last month. Others preferred.
Mellem (IRE)
Yet to score and not seen since respectable tenth in this contest last year. Blinkers/ tongue strap back on. Percentage call is to look elsewhere.
Angelsworknovrtime (IRE)
Below par at Thurles when last seen 11 months ago but returns on a handy mark and is worth monitoring in the market.
Portetta (IRE)
Maiden who has been well held in handicaps on all 4 outings this season. Hard to fancy.
Piper Street (FR)
Some encouragement on bumper debut but well held all 3 starts in this sphere. Improvement required on handicap debut.
Another Challenge (IRE)
Back on the up when winning 13-runner handicap chase (8/1) at Roscommon (2¾m, good to soft) 70 days ago, bit in hand. 3 lb lower back hurdling and is not taken lightly.
Plus Or Minus (IRE)
Unfancied in the market and no impact in a trio of maiden hurdles. May do better now upped in trip for handicap debut.
Talas Kera (IRE)
Built on previous run when good second of 13 in handicap hurdle at Gowran (2½m, good to soft) 11 days ago. 3 lb higher now but ought to go well again.
Bethpage Theatre (IRE)
Well held on completed starts in maiden hurdles and remains to be seen if switch to handicapping brings about improvement.
Cinnabar Moth (IRE)
Yet to score and arrives on back of below-par effort at Navan last month. Work to do.
Hob's Angel (IRE)
Took advantage of career-low mark at Clonmel (2½m) in May and largely remained in form since. Unseated early on at Downpatrick latest but likely to make presence felt here.
Westin Pimpernel (IRE)
Hasn't offered much in 5 hurdles this year, including on handicap debut at Kilbeggan in May. Since joined Gordon Elliott and remains with plenty to prove.
