Timeform View

APACHE PEAK ran to a decent level in bumpers after chasing home the useful Minella Yoga in a hurdle at Fairyhouse at this time last year and is taken to make a successful return to hurdles. Fiveandahalf is another who switched to bumpers after a promising hurdle debut, in his case winning at Ballinrobe in the spring, and he's feared most ahead of Gordon Elliott's Thinkitdontjinxit.

Timeform Comments

Issy's Lad (IRE)
Valirann gelding. Dam unraced, from family of bumper winner/fair 2m hurdler Very Tempting and Italian St Leger winner Comme L'Etoile. A watching brief is advised on debut.
Marine Tycoon (IRE)
Unseated rider at the first maiden hurdle at Downpatrick (17f, good to soft) last week. The fact he was backed into 4/1 suggests he was expected to show up well.
Quest For Answers (IRE)
£170,000 point recruit but remote fifth in 3m course maiden on hurdle debut in May. Significantly down in trip on return.
River Ore
Modest form in 3 bumpers in May/June. Outsider now hurdling.
Silken Thomas
Point winner. Given a considerate introduction to hurdling when sixth of 15 in maiden at Ballinrobe (2m, good to soft, 5/1) in May. Likely to progress.
Thinkitdontjinxit (IRE)
Point winner who was runner-up in a pair of Thurles bumpers at the start of the year. Well beaten at the Punchestown Festival in the spring but retains potential now hurdling.
Thranduil (IRE)
28/1, shaped better than result when eighth of 12 in bumper at Downpatrick (2¼m, soft) on debut 26 days ago. Makes hurdles debut.
Two Grand Sweeney
Half-brother to a point winner and fairly useful hurdler winner/chaser Charles Ritz (19f-2½m winner). Point winner for whom the betting should help guide to expectations.
Whisky Lads (IRE)
7/1, showed a bit when sixth of 21 in maiden hurdle at Naas (15f, heavy) on debut in February. Open to progress.
Apache Peak (IRE)
Chased Minella Yoga home in an academy hurdle at Fairyhouse on debut last November and placed in 3 bumpers since. Likely to go well back hurdling if fully primed after 6 months off.
Caprison (IRE)
18/1, ninth of 13 in bumper at Navan (2m, good to soft) on debut 25 days ago. Makes hurdles debut.
Deralo Ir (FR)
Fair maiden on the Flat. Ninth of 15 in handicap (16/1) at Listowel (14.2f, good to soft) 23 days ago. Tongue strap on first time. The betting should help guide to expectations with this one.
Fiveandahalf (IRE)
Brother to useful hurdler Sixandahalf and caught the eye with his finishing effort when fourth in 11-runner juvenile hurdle (2m) on debut in March. Built on that with a bumper win at Ballinrobe in May and should have a big say back hurdling.
Magna Gee Gee (IRE)
Low-grade Flat winner who has finished well held in maiden hurdles in recent weeks. Little appeal this side of handicaps.
Highland Call (IRE)
No impact in either bumper outing. Offered more when sixth of 20 in maiden at Gowran (2m, good to soft) on hurdle debut 12 days ago but still best watched here.
Ragstoriches (IRE)
Order of St George filly. Dam poor maiden hurdler (stayed 21f). Likely outsider on debut.
