Timeform View

Quite a few to consider but FRISCO LAD looked a nice prospect when making a winning debut at Limerick this summer and is taken to defy a penalty. Sharbel was a shade unlucky not to win at Navan last time so he's a serious player, while Hilly Filly may well reverse Down Royal form with Hutton Star.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

A decent pace still shouldn’t detract from the chances of those who race on or near the front end such as Frisco Lad: The forecast decent pace still isn’t likely to sway the advantage towards those usually ridden further back such as is Hilly Filly.

Timeform Comments

Frisco Lad (IRE)
Dam, closely related to fair hurdler/fairly useful chaser Offaly and useful bumper winner Blencathra Bay. Strong in the betting and overcame inexperience to make a winning debut at Limerick in July. Was allowed an easy lead on that occasion but that race is working out so he's shortlisted.
Hill Silver (IRE)
€2,000 Hillstar half-brother to dual bumper winner Ellen Kelly. Fourth first 2 starts and made the most of an easier assignment when successful at Kilbeggan in August. Penalty makes life tough.
El Bilo (IRE)
Jet Away gelding, first foal of a dam who stayed 2½m. Related to fairly useful staying hurdler/chaser Know The Score who stayed 3m. Yard can ready a newcomer so any support in the betting should be noted.
Hilly Filly (IRE)
Affinisea half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser Fascile Mode. Looked above-average prospect in justifying support on debut at Cork in July, coming from an unlikely position. Again patiently ridden when matching that form at Down Royal, finding Hutton Star too good. Remains of serious interest.
Hutton Star (IRE)
Sottsass filly. Dam (h144) 2m/17f hurdle winner, also 11f-2½m winner on Flat. Attracted support and overcame signs of inexperience to make a winning debut in 11-runner bumper at Down Royal (17f) in late August, beating the penalised Hilly Filly. Wouldn't be sure to uphold that form.
Manu Reva (FR)
Great Pretender gelding. Dam, French chaser (19f winner), sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 3¼m) Chambard.
Sharbel (IRE)
Hillstar gelding. Brother to modest 2m hurdle winner Figero, and half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Avalo. Mid-field on debut at Galway in July and stepped up on that when a close second at Navan 3 weeks ago, just failing having received a bump from the winner. Has to be a factor again.
Soleil D'aure (FR)
Elm Park gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including smart hurdler Zarak The Brave, stays 2½m, and Right Tempo. Failed to meet expectations only start in points.
Time Takes Time (IRE)
Gustav Klimt gelding. Closely related to a winner and half-brother to 3 winners on Flat, including useful 1m winner in France Five Avenue. Dam 6f winner who stayed 1m.
Veales Cross (IRE)
Mastercraftsman gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners on Flat, including 1½m winner abroad Sea Commander. Dam 1¾m-2m winner. Shaped better than end result suggests when fourth of 9 on debut at Listowel 3 weeks ago. Expected to build on that.
Whispered Verdict (GER)
€24,000 3-y-o, Almanzor gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners on Flat, including German 6.5f/7f winner Wellenbrecher. Dam 1m/9f winner in Germany. Failed to see his race out on debut in a valuable race here in April. Off since but he's in very capable hands.
