Timeform View

ROI DU ROUME has a basement mark to exploit in this sphere and had excuses on the back of a serious error when fourth at Perth on his most recent start in September. He likely remains with a bigger effort in his locker, not least now stepping back up in trip and can put his assured fitness to good use. Chase debutants Tell The Tale and My Own Lovely Lee are others to factor in, with Wannabe and The Magus others likely players if ready to roll on their respective returns to action.

Timeform Comments

My Own Lovely Lee (IRE)
Third sole start in Irish points last year. Maiden over hurdles during a light novice campaign but signed off 2025/26 with his best effort yet when fourth of 6 in handicap at Newton Abbot (3¼m) in April. Likely type to make his mark in this discipline.
The Magus (IRE)
Modest hurdle winner who has yet to taste success over fences but finished second behind a subsequent winner at Hereford (25f) in March. Probably would have gone a place better had his jumping not proved his Achilles' heel over C&D in April and clearly capable from this mark if jumping holds up.
Tell The Tale (IRE)
Dead-heated on third outing in points and readily surpassed his previous hurdling exploits when second of 10 in handicap at Fontwell (2¾m) when last seen in May. Remains low mileage ahead of switch to chasing and return to further ought to hold no fears.
Wannabe (IRE)
Lightly-raced over hurdles and following a quick switch to chasing, he stepped up markedly on his debut effort in that sphere when second at Newcastle (2½m, good to soft) in March. Should stay this trip now returning but he hasn't looked entirely straightforward to date.
Babatunde (IRE)
Kalanisi gelding who produced best effort over hurdles reunited with a fully-fledged rider when second at Taunton (19f, soft) back in February 2025. Placed in a point earlier in his career but betting likely to prove best guide as to expectations now chasing following 19 months off.
Good For You (FR)
Runner-up in maiden hurdle at Wincanton on second start but failed to kick on last season and he jumped ponderously on last month's reappearance/chase debut at Worcester (16.5f). Steps up significantly in trip now but he needs to raise his game.
Bells Of Ufford (IRE)
Posted a good second on return over hurdles at Uttoxeter in June but has looked in need of greater emphasis on stamina in 2 subsequent runs, plugging on for fourth at Stratford (2¾m, good) in August. Step up in trip a plus now sent chasing but others appeal more on balance.
Saddlers Quest
Three-time hurdle winner at up to 17f during 2023. Made the frame a couple of times the following year but not seen under Rules since and little show in 2 points, latterly in March. This veteran looks best watched now attentions switch to larger obstacles.
Izzy's Grey (IRE)
Is 0-16 over hurdles but went close to making a winning start over fences at Uttoxeter (3m) in June and back to that sort of form when filling same spot over that C&D 10 days ago. Respected with a visor now fitted for all his tendency to jump right is far from ideal.
Roi Du Roume (FR)
Maiden hurdler/chaser who shaped quite well fitted with blinkers for the first time when second at Cartmel (21f) in August. Serious error did him no favours when fourth at Perth (2½m, good to soft) 3 weeks ago and suspicion he has a bigger effort in his locker, including back at this longer trip.
Miss Pearl (IRE)
Maiden hurdler who has reached the frame on all 3 starts over fences this summer, equipped with a tongue strap and running as well as could be expected from out of weights when second at Stratford (23f) in July. However, she's likely to prove vulnerable to a few again here.
