Timeform View

Making his seasonal/stable debut, LONE WARRIOR was beaten only by a now-useful type at Southwell in May and he could still have more to offer after only the 3 career starts. The 4-y-o is taken to get the better of Ensor Mews, who shaped well on his recent return, while Adamlyi is worth another chance after a break.

Timeform Comments

Lone Warrior (IRE)
Showed promise in 2 starts for Andrew Balding last year. After 11 months off ahead of stable debut, again ran to a fairly useful level when second in 12-runner maiden at Southwell in May, form boosted since. Major player with tongue strap added.
Trustintimes
Bred for the Flat and landed a bumper in spring last year before winning his first 3 starts over hurdles. Good second in handicap at Kempton's Christmas meeting and possibly needed the run after 3 months off when down the field at Aintree (2½m) in April. Off 6 months ahead of Flat debut.
Adamlyi
Improved from his debut effort when runner-up in a Yarmouth maiden on return in April, the winner franking the form since. Perhaps wasn't 100% when fifth of 11 in novice over this C&D next outing, but he's in good hands to bounce back given time since (has been gelded).
Eagleonthebalcony
Gleneagles gelding. Closely related to winner abroad by The Gurkha. Dam 1m winner out of smart 1m-1½m performer Front House. Wears hood and may just be one for further down the line.
Eagles Instinct (IRE)
Hinted at ability on debut but wasn't able to build on that effort when seventh of 9 in maiden at Redcar 5 weeks ago (gelded since). Looks one for the longer term.
Emerald Spirit (IRE)
Ran to a modest level in a pair of maidens last month, never better than mid-division when eighth of 13 at Southwell (11f) 18 days ago. Has plenty to find back down in trip.
Ensor Mews (IRE)
After 10 months from debut, left that form behind when staying on for third in 10-runner maiden at Wolverhampton (7f) 15 days ago. Merits consideration with further improvement to come as he goes back up in trip.
Intsaar (IRE)
€300,000 yearling but made no impression first time up when tenth of 12 in maiden at Southwell in May. Represents last year's winning yard as he returns from 5 months off (has been gelded).
Journalism
270,000 gns yearling but was held back by inexperience when fourth of 5 in novice at Windsor on debut a month ago. Will need to have learned plenty from that first outing.
Medaali (IRE)
Ghaiyyath gelding. Closely related to 7f winner Almizan. Dam once-raced half-sister to very smart 1m-1¼m (Pretty Polly Stakes) winner Nezwaah and smart 1¼m-1¾m winner Infraad. Could go well for much-respected yard on debut. Wears tongue strap.
Mile End Road (IRE)
Bred to be smart, but ran green making his belated debut when fifth of 9 in maiden at Kempton (7f) in August. This run should reveal more.
Nascondino (IRE)
Didn't manage to find much progress from his first start when fourth of 10 in novice at Kempton 5 days ago. Will be of more appeal in handicaps.
Ovage (IRE)
Shaped a bit better than the result, though was ultimately well beaten when eighth of 10 in novice at Newmarket (1¼m) on debut 25 days ago. Could be more of a type for later on.
Certainty
Well held on debut when trained by Chris Dwyer and, after 12 months off, fared little better for this yard when remote third of 5 in novice at Windsor in September.
