ICE CUBE showed improved form when resuming winning ways at Ayr but his sixth there 26 days ago came just a day later, clearly too soon. Fresher now, he's fancied to make amends and prove himself well suited by 1m. Lillie Margot returns to the C&D where she won in June and is feared most, whilst the class-dropping Shadow Run could perform better than his likely odds.

Timeform Comments

Lillie Margot
Made all over C&D in June but hasn't progressed since, though went off too hard over further in a higher grade last time and the return to this track and trip could see her in a much better light.
Ephron (IRE)
Inconsistent sort who won at Hamilton over this trip in August. Best not judged too harshly on recent seventh of 13 in a handicap at Redcar when racing in disadvantaged near-side group, but still hard to know what to expect with him.
Napolian (IRE)
Inconsistent handicapper who won a match at Leicester in June but only decent effort since came when second of 7 at Doncaster in August. Last 2 runs are hard to be positive about and others are preferred.
Trinculo
Fair form for George Baker but has failed to settle either start for current yard, including in first-time cheekpieces last time. Still not had much racing and down in grade here but comes with risks attached.
Vega's Virtue (IRE)
Won 3 times this year, including at Doncaster in August but none of her wins have worked out especially well and she has a slightly ungainly way of racing. Needs another step forward.
Shadow Run (IRE)
Yet to win but came second of 6 at Doncaster in August on debut for current stable and produced creditable effort when seventh of 14 in a better race than this at Redcar 11 days ago. Unexposed at 1m and this grade looks more his level.
Ice Cube (IRE)
Showed improved form when resuming winning ways at Ayr over 7f 27 days ago, looking ready for the return to 1m. That success has worked out pretty well and he's easily excused his flop just the day after so is one to be very interested in having been freshened up since then.
Fickle Mcselfish
All-weather winner who was narrowly denied at Ripon on turf in April but then missed 6 months. Probably needed run when down field at Newcastle on return 13 days ago and boasts a positive jockey booking here so may reveal more.
Blue Hill
Lightly raced but didn't improve quite as expected for longer trip when fifth of 14 on handicap debut at Epsom over 1½m in September and now drops markedly back to 1m with a little to prove.
Far Far Out (IRE)
Failed to beat a rival in 3 starts since leaving Roger Varian and looks very hard to fancy dropping back in trip.
