Timeform View

LUNAR EMPRESS improved a little on her previous exploits whilst leaving the distinct impression she's ready for the step up to this trip when second in a Galway maiden 37 days ago and she can confirm as much and get off the mark at the fifth attempt. Woodstream is an appealing newcomer from the Joseph O'Brien yard and commands a look, as does his stablemate Belicoso. Ocean Phoenix and The Captains Day are others who make each-way appeal.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Lunar Empress traded at a low of 3.05 and Betfair SP of 6.20 when losing last time, a race in which it led.

Timeform Comments

Anthony Of Lisbon
Blackbeard colt who had missed 4 months following a low-key debut effort and he didn't appear to have learnt anything in the interim when well held in a Cork maiden (5f, soft) 16 days ago. Goes up significantly in trip now which may well see him in a better light.
Maximilien Luce (IRE)
Makes plenty of appeal on paper but seemed backward when eleventh of 13 in a heavy ground C&D maiden 18 days ago, off bridle before most and left behind over 1f out. Represents leading stable and he should have more to offer now tackling 1m.
Belicoso (IRE)
Stepped up on previous maiden starts when third in a 7f Down Royal contest in July. Found to be lame post race when a below-par fifth on nursery debut at Killarney (1m) a month later but revival possible with visor now fitted.
Clash
Big prices and well held in pair of 1m turf maidens in recent months.
Even Par (IRE)
Foaled March 19. €35,000 yearling, Make Believe gelding. Half-brother to Swedish winner up to 1½m American Lily and 2-y-o 7f winner Quarter. Likely best watched on debut.
Rare Blend (IRE)
Foaled April 28. €14,000 foal, €45,000 yearling, Persian Force gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including winner up to 1m Optimum Time and 2-y-o 1m winner Preziosissima.
The Captains Day (IRE)
Acclamation colt who has finished mid-field all 3 starts in maidens to date, left with a lot to do when sixth of 14 at Punchestown (1m) 4 weeks ago. That was another fair display and he's not without each-way hope here.
Blue Glory (IRE)
Foaled March 9. Cotai Glory gelding. Dam unraced. Offered little at long odds when last of 9 in a Navan maiden on debut 8 days ago.
Viola Young (IRE)
Foaled March 28. €44,000 yearling, Stradivarius filly. Half-sister to smart 7f/1m winner Rogue Diplomat. Stable yet to strike with a 2-y-o debutant at time of writing this season.
The Boogeyman (FR)
Foaled February 4. €52,000 foal, Victor Ludorum colt. Closely related to 8.7f winner Light of Oujda, and half-brother to 9.4f-14.4f winner Devil In The Sky and winner up to 9.4f Raoule. Dam 9f winner. Yard has had a few shape well on debut this year but he'd be a surprising winner.
Woodstream (IRE)
Foaled April 16. Waldgeist colt. Half-brother to 2-y-o 6f winner in Czech Republic Dantawi. Dam unraced, closely related to useful 7f/1m winner Akira. Leading yard has enjoyed success with newcomers this year and worth a close look in the market for clues.
Lunar Empress (IRE)
Zoustar filly who took a marginal step forward from first 3 starts with cheekpieces enlisted when second of 12 in a Galway maiden (7f, soft) 37 days ago. Step up to 1m now looks firmly in her favour on that evidence and bold bid expected.
Silent Promise (IRE)
Foaled March 19. €26,000 yearling, Saxon Warrior filly. Half-sister to 7f-1¼m winner Chet's Fancy. Dam, 5.5f/6f winner (including at 2 yrs), half-sister to useful 1m-1½m winner Glen Force.
Ocean Phoenix (IRE)
Ulysses filly who won 8-runner barrier trial at Leopardstown in August but still proved held back by inexperience when seventh of 11 in a Listowel maiden (1m) 24 days ago, running green and not knocked about. Appeals as the type to improve with that under her belt.
Celestial Order (IRE)
Foaled March 6. Space Traveller filly. Half-sister to US winner around 5f Sea Hunter. Dam, 5f winner, half-sister to useful 5f/6f winner Streamline.
Lori Darlin (IRE)
Foaled April 30. Elzaam filly who is probably one for later on judged on her low-key debut effort at Thurles (8.3f) last week.
Savannah Sun (IRE)
Well held in 3 maidens for Michael J. Browne and hard to make a case for starting out for new stable.
