Timeform View

Unexposed 3-y-o PRIORSTOWN is in good hands, and he gets the vote ahead of Nicky Larson and Grann's Boy, in what looks an ultra-competitive handicap. Glittering Gem, Alfalfa, Gallo Dell Cielo and Flagstone Lady also appeal.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Glittering Gem traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 25% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Medadthebookie traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 4 starts.

Timeform Comments

Granville Street (IRE)
Dual-purpose performer who went close off this mark in a big field at Navan in the spring. Ran creditably when third behind Glittering Gem in a similar event at Thurles (16.5f) on latest start and now reopposes on better terms. Should be thereabouts.
Miss Australie (IRE)
Back to something like her very best to pick up a second career victory at Navan in August (1¾m). Same good-value claimer back aboard here, however, she was again held back by her slow starting ways when beaten 10¾ lengths behind a handful of today's rivals at Thurles (16.5f) last time.
Glittering Gem (IRE)
Low-mileage 4-y-o from a good family. Showed improved form upped in trip when runner-up at Thurles (16.5f) 7 days ago, doing well considering how keen she was early on. A strongly-run 1¾m could be right up her street on that evidence, and she's one of the more interesting types in here.
Kaleo Ametsa (FR)
Dual-purpose mare. Again ran to a fair level when 4¾ lengths sixth of 13 on qualifying run at Gowran (1¾m) last time. Opening mark demands a fair bit more, though.
Tatum (IRE)
Off the mark for the season at Leopardstown (15f) in July. Best run since when beaten 10½ lengths behind a couple of today's rivals at Thurles last time. Races off same mark but first-time cheekpieces/booking of Colin Keane offers some hope of improvement.
Harry's Legacy
Sixteen runs since last win in 2022. First-time cheekpieces didn't spark improvement at Leopardstown (13f, good) on latest start in August. Now drops in grade in bid to capitalise on his slipping mark.
Alfalfa (IRE)
Hold-up type who won a soft-ground handicap here (1½m) last autumn. Ran well to finish third in this year's renewal of the race earlier this month. Should stay this longer trip and looks to have plenty in his favour with Billy Lee taking over.
Paradise Lost (IRE)
Fair sort who posted a laboured display when fifth in a big-field Fairyhouse handicap over this trip in June. Looked to have returned in form when filling the same position over jumps at Gowran earlier this month and forecast strong pace in his favour.
Battling Siki (IRE)
Low-mileage 4-y-o. Unsuited by the drop in trip when 5 lengths third in a claimer at Ballinrobe (9.5f) on final start for Mark Fahey in July. Now switched to handicap/longer trip by new handler and isn't badly treated on the pick of his form.
Medadthebookie
Lightly raced for his age. Finished closer than previously when beaten 7¼ lengths in a similar event on handicap bow at Listowel last time. A 1 lb reprieve probably isn't enough, though.
Miss Gitana (IRE)
Won 2m Tramore handicap for Gordon Elliott last summer. Matched that form with placed efforts (including in better event at Tramore) this summer, however, looks to have gone off the boil more recently.
Galileo Springs (IRE)
Modest winner at 17f over hurdles. Brought along quietly in maidens in this sphere, not given hard time when down the field on qualifying run at Listowel (1½m, good to soft) latest. Open to improvement now handicapping over longer trip.
Gallo Dell Cielo (IRE)
Strong traveller who capitalised on his much lower turf mark when a wide-margin winner at Tramore on return in August. Shaped as though still on a handy mark when runner-up at Clonmel (17f, good) last month. Still appeals off 2 lb higher, with strongly-run 1¾m likely to be up his street.
Grann's Boy (IRE)
Useful hurdler whose record in handicaps on soft/heavy on the level reads 2312. Has proved better than ever for the addition of cheekpieces over hurdles of late (now on for first time in this sphere). Looks interesting back on the Flat, especially given the forecast rain.
It's Good To Talk (IRE)
Runner-up in bumper on debut over the winter. Shaped better than distance beaten suggests when eighth of 18 on handicap debut at this course (1¼m, heavy, 33/1). Needs a close look in the betting now upped in trip by shrewd yard.
Preparations (IRE)
Overcame mid-race interference to capitalise on a significantly reduced mark at Tramore in August. Found life tougher in couple of starts off higher marks since and opposable for all her yard remains in fine form.
Priorstown (IRE)
Showed much improved form in first-time cheekpieces/upped in distance when landing big-field handicap at Roscommon. Ran at least as well in defeat with a second at Listowel (1½m, good to soft). Headgear refitted and still very much unexposed up in trip/taking on his elders for the first time.
Tanzanite Diamond (IRE)
Fair maiden who's hit the frame in a pair of 3-y-o handicaps at Listowel/Killarney recently. Will need to improve for step up in trip/refitting of a tongue tie now back against his elders, though.
My First Rose (IRE)
Yard has had success with this family. No impact in trio of maiden starts (1m/1¼m). On a lowly mark given her pedigree and switch to handicap/longer trip may well see her in a better light. Stable jockey prefers Glittering Gem.
Nicky Larson (FR)
Shaped promisingly on first of 2 handicaps starts over 1m earlier this year. Since progressed for switch to hurdles, running to a borderline fairly useful level when completing a double at Down Royal (17f). Completely unexposed over this trip on the Flat and potentially on a lenient mark, too.
Flagstone Lady (IRE)
Strong in the betting/confirmed previous promise when getting off the mark at Down Royal (13f, good). Again ran well despite racing freely when third at same track (11f) subsequently. Has the potential to do better over this longer trip, provided she settles.
Omakase (IRE)
Consistent Flat performer. Well treated on form in staying handicaps last year. Sure to have needed the run when falling on hurdling debut (following 16 months away) at Listowel last month. Dangerous if back firing on all cylinders. RESERVE.
Miss Crinshawn (IRE)
Ran no sort of race in first-time cheekpieces at Gowran (9.5f, soft). Hadn't been in top form prior to that, either, and hard to be confident the step back up in trip will spark a revival. RESERVE.
Crosshaven
Lightly-raced maiden. Couldn't build on the minor promise of his handicap debut at Gowran (1m) latest. Now steps up significantly in trip and there's no shortage of stamina in his pedigree. RESERVE.
