Timeform View

CUBAN GREY has twice won over C&D and, with both the drop in grade and return to this venue sure to suit, he looks worth siding with. Jordan Breeze has been out of form lately but is well treated on the pick of his efforts and is a big player if bouncing back, while Steel Magnolia and Harry’s Hill head the rest in an open sprint handicap.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Fan Club has traded at 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 4 starts.

Timeform Comments

Cuban Grey
Won at Dundalk in May. Posted a couple of creditable placed efforts at this course over the summer but has largely struggled of late. This represents a drop in grade, though, and has twice won over C&D in the past. Cheekpieces back on.
Apothic Red (IRE)
Improved further when winning 19-runner handicap at this course in August by 1¼ lengths from Simmering Seas. Shaped as if amiss 6 weeks later, though, and now tackles 5f for the first time.
Harry's Hill
A 3-time C&D winner, the latest of which came in an 11-runner event in August. Down the field in stronger races last 2 starts, but shaped better than the bare result when 6 lengths ninth of 11 to Stag Night at Naas 5 days ago. Should fare better back at this level and returned to this venue.
Buddy Batt (IRE)
Won at Dundalk on final 2 starts last year and also scored at the same course in March. Step back in right direction when fourth at Navan earlier in the month and faced a stiff task here 19 days ago (well out of weights). Not one to write off.
Mary Shoelaces (IRE)
Won this race last year and notched up a third C&D success when landing an 18-runner event in July. Shaped as if still in good form when 5 lengths fifth of 9 to Amiata at Navan in August. Blinkers back on and now only 2 lb above her last successful mark.
Thurso
Winner of handicap at Bath (5.7f) on final start for Richard Hughes and similar form when fourth in a big-field contest at Navan (5f) on stable debut. Well below form last 2 starts, though.
Happy Henry (IRE)
Improved model this year, winning handicaps at Navan in June and at Bellewstown in July. Back in usual headgear and ran creditably when third of 6 at latter track (5f, soft) in September.
Fan Club
Failed to progress in 3 outings for William Haggas in 2024/25 and has shown little on either start for current connections on the back of a 15-month absence. Cheekpieces go on.
Aughlish (IRE)
Reached the frame in 3 sprint maidens here earlier in the year. Has gone the wrong way since, however, and is very hard to recommend at present.
Coincidental Glory (IRE)
Yet to win on turf but he's hit the frame 7 times this year, 4 lengths second of 22 to Rosato at Navan on latest. Claims if proving as effective back at 5f.
The Right One (IRE)
Improved in first-time cheekpieces when landing 7-runner handicap at Down Royal in June. Hasn't gone on in 3 subsequent starts.
One Cool Bear (IRE)
Capitalised on a reduced mark in a change of headgear when finally got off the mark at Bellewstown in early-October but failed to see his race out when turned out under a penalty at Navan 8 days ago. Cheekpieces replace blinkers now.
Prince Andorra (IRE)
Maiden who has made little impact in a quartet of handicaps. Tackles 5f for the first time.
Jordan Breeze (IRE)
Doubled his tally in 5f handicap at Cork in May but struggled afterwards. Should be sharper for his recent return from a 13-week break, though, and now finds himself 5 lb below his last winning mark. Was second to Mary Shoelaces in this last year and certainly interesting this time around.
Steel Magnolia (IRE)
Seen to best effect when doubling her tally at Naas in August (in-frame horses have franked the form) and has remained in good heart since, nearest at the finish when 1¾ lengths fourth of 9 to One Cool Bear at Bellewstown last time. Entitled to be in the mix.
Mymomentintime (USA)
Fifteen runs since sole win (over C&D) in 2022. Twelfth of 18 to Cuban Grey in handicap at the Curragh (5f, soft, 28/1) when last seen in July 2025. Hard to fancy.
Gold Inn (IRE)
Went the wrong way for Andrew Slattery and hasn't gone with any encouragement in 2 starts for current connections.
