CHIEF SUNDAY looks a likely bounce-back candidate for a yard among the winners, and he may well capitalise on a much-reduced mark. Uncle Remus, Lord of The Glance and Diamond Days all look credible dangers.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Cawthorne Banker traded at more than 10 times Betfair SP twice when winning during its last 5 starts: Castle Quarter traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 25% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Brave Jen
Dual winner for Tom Ellis towards the end of 2024. Offered little in 3 starts for present yard last year, though, and has plenty to prove returning from 13 months away.
Cawthorne Banker (IRE)
Made hard work of completing a handicap double at Uttoxeter in July. Found life tougher off higher marks both starts since, never looking like adding to his fine Uttoxeter record when 11¼ lengths behind Uncle Remus there latest. A 1 lb reprieve probably isn't enough, even with yard going well.
Chief Sunday (FR)
Fair winner of back-to-back handicap hurdles in 2025. Fallen to a very attractive mark following a spell in the doldrums earlier this year and was a market mover prior to his scheduled return (non runner) at Perth last month. Could be hard to beat if fit and well after a break.
Lord Of The Glance
Offered plenty in defeat since improving to get off the mark at Stratford in March. Backed up an encouraging comeback run at Cartmel when well-backed second on return to Stratford (2m) latest, beaten ½ length by one who'd set a sound pace. Expected to give another good account.
Uncle Remus
Steadily progressive in bumpers for previous yard. Has turned around a shaky start to his hurdling career, building on a breakthrough success at Uttoxeter when runner-up in a sound-looking handicap there (2m) last time. Can go well again off the same mark (due to race off 2 lb higher).
Diamond Days (IRE)
Made the frame for the second time in 3 handicap starts when 16½-length third on return over C&D last season. Matched that form over fences prior to a forgivable end-of-season effort in cheekpieces (now removed) in Taunton handicap hurdle. Still relatively early days and respected for in-form yard.
Western Soldier (GER)
Landed his first handicap success in this sphere at Wincanton (2m) in November (now 5 lb lower). Doesn't look the easiest to catch right, however, found to have bled when 12½ lengths fourth of 9 on return from 9 weeks off at Stratford (2m) last month.
For Old Times Sake (IRE)
Low-mileage 5-y-o who was placed in points in spring 2025. Below market expectations first 2 handicap starts and capped a disappointing season when pulled up at Hereford in April. Dropped another 3 lb and clearly thought capable of better by yard that knows the time of day.
Castle Quarter (IRE)
Veteran who got off the mark in a thin Uttoxeter handicap (2m) in May last year. Now 6 lb lower in the weights following a typically patchy run of form, back on song (didn't go unsupported) when 3½-length second to an improver at Worcester (2m, soft) last time. Yard also saddle For Old Times Sake.
