Timeform View

Preference is for SHIFRA, who has had a light campaign and now connections have learnt how best to ride her, Pat Phelan's filly can make it 3 wins from her last 4 starts. This return to 1¼m looks a good move for Celtic Spirit, so he could be the one to provide most resistance, with Cosmic Girl rounding off the shortlist for in-form handler Andrew Balding.

Timeform Comments

Shifra (IRE)
Off the mark at Lingfield in a classified stakes in June and raised her game with a dominant display under a no-nonsense ride to double her tally in 12-runner handicap at Bath (1¼m, good) last month. 8 lb higher here but remains of interest now they've learnt how best to ride her.
Skimming Along (IRE)
A 2-time scorer in 2025, including at this track. Made a solid return from 7 months off with fifth of 8 at Lingfield (1½m) in April and ran to a similar level back from another break when third of 7 at this track (1½m, good) last month. Has ability but clearly not the easiest to train.
Benavente
Won a claimer in March at Dundalk on all-weather but little promise on both completed starts since joining this yard (unseated rider start latest).
Vitality (IRE)
Often races freely and again showed little with the hood discarded when fifth of 8 in handicap at Lingfield (7f) last month. Upped to 1¼m but hard to see her featuring despite a falling mark.
Muy Muy Loco (IRE)
Hold-up performer whose 2 career victories have come over 1¼m at Lingfield, overcoming a pace bias for his success in February. Wasn't seen to best effect back down in trip when fourth of 8 at Lingfield (1m) last month. Now below his last winning mark but this a very rare turf outing.
Cosmic Girl
Wootton Bassett filly who showed plenty to work on when third of 5 in novice at Lingfield (7.5f, good) back in May. Disappointed on her next couple of starts but back to her debut level when third of 9 on handicap bow at Ffos Las (1m, heavy) recently. Step up to 1¼m could well eke out extra.
Dream Of Ithaca
Landed classified event at this track in August before following up in a handicap at Ffos Las 15 days later, though was a fortunate on the latter occasion. Disappointed in pursuit of the hat-trick at Thirsk (1½m) last month (possibly overdoing it) so bounce back is required returned to 1¼m.
Celtic Spirit
Bounced back to form dropped back in trip when second of 10 at this course (1m, good) 9 days ago, his effort very much one of late gains. One to consider with the return to 1¼m looking a good move.
Summer Evening (IRE)
Long-standing maiden who ran about as well as she ever has when second of 9 at Ffos Las (1¼m, soft) last month. Nudged up 2 lb for that near miss and her task is to now back that up.
All About George
Winless from 11 starts and again ran poorly in a first-time visor over C&D just over 6 weeks ago. Cheekpieces reapplied but leap of faith needed.
Fitzmaurice (IRE)
Long-standing maiden whose best effort for this yard when second of 6 over C&D in a classified stakes in August. Well beaten on both subsequent starts so best watched.
