Timeform View

INGLEBY ARCHIE is just below his last winning mark and got back on track when runner-up at Nottingham earlier this month. He makes most appeal. Mr Cool and Mayo County can also make their presence felt.

Timeform Comments

King's Call (IRE)
Not scored since 2024 and went backwards from stable debut at Southwell (6f) 20 days ago. Cheekpieces now tried for first time.
Mr Cool (IRE)
Back on scoreboard at Ayr in July and added to that success over this C&D the following month. Arrives on back of good second of 7 in handicap (7/2) at Leicester (6f, good to firm) 10 days ago and looks a likely player.
Ingleby Archie (IRE)
Course winner who opened his account for this year at Nottingham in June and bounced back to form when creditable second of 15 in handicap over same C&D 15 days ago. Shortlist material.
Sugar Baby
Veteran who got back on the scoreboard at Doncaster in June but has largely disappointed since, well beaten over C&D latest. Others preferred.
You Will See
Ulysses gelding who produced a promising first effort at Southwell (7f) in April and wasn't disgraced, back from 4 months off, when seventh on handicap debut over same C&D 20 days ago. More needed to defy current mark, however.
Bravo Hotel
Fair 5f maiden at 2yrs who offered more than previously this year, equipped with first-time visor, when fourth of 6 in handicap at this course (5f, good to soft, 17/2) 23 days ago. Claims if building on that.
Wodao (FR)
Not successful since 2022 and no signs of a revival in form for new yard the last twice. Blinkers/tongue strap back on.
Taygar (IRE)
Runner-up 4 times during first half of the season and bounced back from a string of lesser efforts when filling same spot at Ripon (6f) last month. Disappointed at Newcastle since but can't be ruled out here.
Showtime Mahomes
Returned to winning ways at Ripon (6f) last month and ran respectably, in first-time blinkers, when fifth of 12 in handicap at Pontefract (5f, good) 11 days ago. Could figure here with return to this longer trip a definite plus.
Mayo County
Scored over longer trip at this course in May and back to that sort of form when good third of 10 in handicap at Newcastle (6f) 14 days ago, well positioned. One of likelier contenders.
Run This Way
Twice a winner over C&D in 2024 and ended losing run when scoring twice from lowly marks in May. Arrives on back of a good short-head second of 11 to Showtime Mahomes in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm) last month and is only 1 lb higher here,
Hurstwood
Boasts an excellent record here, his back-to-back victories this summer making it 5 wins over C&D. Posted respectable fourth of 10 in handicap at Ripon (6f, good to firm) since and is not taken lightly here.
Hares Bredth
More miss than hit this year and was below form on his all-weather debut at Southwell last week. Makes limited appeal.
