Cases can be made for any number of these but the most persuasive is for MOOSTAR, who finally broke her duck for this yard at Leicester 10 days ago and James Owen's filly escapes a penalty. Handily berthed in stall 2, she can get the better of Highfield Viking, who got off the mark for the year at Ayr recently and remains on a workable mark based on last year's form. Reginald Charles and Filey Beach are another couple with a squeak, as well.

Timeform Comments

Kiss Me My Love (IRE)
Successful twice over 1m here this season, the latest in July. Up and down since but ran clearly one of this season's better races when second of 10 at Catterick (7f, good to firm) just over a fortnight ago. Not dismissed from the same mark.
Folkene (FR)
Has drawn a blank since making a winning start for current yard at Newmarket (7f) last summer. Fared no better down in 0-65 company for the first time at Leicester recently and tough to see her involved.
Highfield Viking
Back-to-back winner last August who built on previous effort to get off the mark for the year in 11-runner event at Ayr (7f, heavy) last month, hanging left but went clear final 1f. Just 3 lb higher here and remains on a workable mark based on last year's form.
Moostar
Snapped a lengthy losing run in 7f Leicester apprentice race under Oliver Hoodless 10 days ago, able to overcome a slow start in a strongly-run race. Missing the break may be harder to overcome in this huge field but folly to discount from the same mark.
Thornaby Annie (IRE)
Keen-going filly who opened her account in good style at Wetherby (1m) in June. Chased home a fairly useful one at Beverley the following month but well held back at 7f/under less testing conditions at Thirsk last month. Now down to her last successful mark.
March Ahead
Won 6f Carlisle novice last summer, leaving Kevin Ryan after final outing that year. Hasn't offered much in 3 starts this season so best to look elsewhere despite her slipping mark.
Reginald Charles
Consistent without winning this year and having edged back to his last winning mark, ran well with headgear tried following a 3-year hiatus when second of 11 at Newcastle (1m) 3 weeks ago. Nudged up 1 lb and every chance if the headgear is equally effective a second time.
Rousham
Not straightforward but made a winning handicap debut over C&D in May. Fared better than of late ridden with more restraint despite typically looking hard work when third of 10 at Newcastle (7f) just over a fortnight ago. Change of headgear now tried. NON RUNNER.
Filey Beach (IRE)
Gained a third win of the season in 11-runner event at Catterick (7f, good) last month but ran one of this season's lesser races at Musselburgh later that month, though was reported to have finished lame. Needs to quickly bounce back but can.
Sir David (FR)
Tumbled down the weights and back on the scoreboard at Beverley in August. Ran to similar level when neck second at Leicester last month but unsurprisingly wasn't in the same form back at latter track (7f, good to firm) 10 days ago.
Travis
In good form over 7f earlier this summer, scoring over C&D in June before placing 3 times in July. Has gone off the boil more recently and hopes pinned on reapplied blinkers sparking a revival.
Stoneywell
Hasn't gone on since handicapping, finishing sixth of 9 at Carlisle (7f, good to soft) a couple of months ago. Others more persuasive despite a tumbling mark.
Triple P
Made the frame on her first 3 starts but couldn't manage to find improvement kept to 6f for handicap debut when eighth of 11 at Ripon (good to firm) just under 3 weeks ago, though wasn't helped by meeting some trouble. Step forward needed back up at 7f.
Penny Ghent
Thrived in refitted headgear in the spring, landing back-to-back handicaps in May. Creditable third of 7 at this track in late-July (1m, good) but well beaten at Ripon since having had a complete change of tactics enforced on her by a slow start. Others look stronger.
Saxon Prince
Fair maiden on all-weather for Clive Cox and not disgraced when fourth of 10 in handicap at Ayr (7f, heavy) last week, doing his best work at the finish. First-time cheekpieces added but he's been shaping as if he wants 1m.
Uncertainty (IRE)
Remains a maiden (previously trained by Richard Hannon). One of her best efforts for current yard when fifth of 12 at Pontefract (6f, good to soft) on penultimate start but unsurprisingly failed to build on that at Ripon (6f, good to firm) since.
Oh So Perfect (IRE)
Twice a winner at Chelmsford earlier this year and fared better than previously on turf despite not being seen to best effect when fifth of 11 at Ripon (6f, good to firm) just under 3 weeks ago, not clear run from over 1f out. Place claims.
Miss Willows
Pair of 7f wins last year. Standout effort this campaign when second of 14 at Beverley (7.5f) in June and needs to show plenty more than of late.
Night Emperor (IRE)
Confirmed previous promise for current yard this year when opening account in handicap here (6f) in July. Has run well all 3 starts since, fourth of 12 over C&D (good to soft) just over 3 weeks ago, and he merits consideration in first-time cheekpieces.
Willowinghurn
Second of 2 wins in 2025 came at Musselburgh around a year ago. Hasn't been able to match that form this season, though got back on track returned to the right sort of trip when fourth of 11 there (7f, good) 4 days ago. Needs to build on that here.
