Timeform View

SWEET KISS has benefited from the application of cheekpieces, narrowly denied over C&D in August and not seen to best effect in her last 2 races, so she could be ready to get back to winning ways. She gets the vote ahead of Pedro The Poet, who has been finding his feet for his current yard, while Electric Arc is one to note on handicap bow.

Timeform Comments

Pedro The Poet (IRE)
Maiden in Ireland who stepped forward from his stable debut effort when fourth of 6 in handicap at Catterick (1¾m) last month. Ran well dropped markedly in trip when runner-up at this course (7f) 23 days ago and a return to further promises to suit. Merits consideration.
Jam Lass
Made second handicap start a winning one when landing this race last year. Has raced only 3 times this season but has gone close when making the frame the last twice, beaten a length when fourth of 8 at Pontefract 22 days ago. Only 2 lb above her winning mark.
Alazwar (IRE)
Returned to winning ways at Beverley in July and followed up in similar fashion on all-weather at Lingfield 6 weeks ago, again having the benefit of a good position. Remains on a workable mark based on the pick of last season's form.
Sweet Kiss
Yet to win this season but runner-up on 3 occasions, including twice over C&D. Has shaped better than the result last 2 starts, making effort earlier than ideal when third of 12 at Ayr 8 days ago, and she looks set for another bold showing.
Star Start (IRE)
Built on a couple of placed efforts when winning at Pontefract (1¼m) in August and also at Haydock (11.5f) in September. After a couple of lesser runs, took a step back in the right direction when fourth of 8 at Musselburgh (9f) 4 days ago. Switches back to cheekpieces.
Boy Named Sioux (IRE)
Won 7f Southwell nursery last year but yet to fire this season, seventh of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 25 days ago. Now 5 lb below his winning mark but others more persuasive at present.
Woodleigh (IRE)
Added to his fine record at this venue when scoring here in August, his third C&D success. Ran at least as well when second here last month, before a respectable fifth of 9 at this track 13 days ago.
Masekela (IRE)
Hasn't won since his juvenile days and little to shout about tried over hurdles for new connections this year. Fared no better back on the Flat when well held in handicap at Hamilton (1½m) 18 days ago.
Eeetee (IRE)
Won twice over 1m here last summer but ended 2025 on a low-key note and has continued below form this season, eighth of 19 back at this course 5 weeks ago. Now tried back up in trip with the headgear left off.
Electric Arc
Showed more than on debut when third of 5 in novice at Lingfield (1½m, all-weather) last month. Had a hopeless task from position when sixth of 10 at Newmarket (1¼m) a week later, so she remains capable of better now handicapping with cheekpieces added.
Cosmic Man (IRE)
Has fared better than previously in handicaps with headgear fitted last 2 starts, in blinkers when third of 9 over this C&D in September. Switched to cheekpieces, filled the same position in 7-runner contest at Southwell (11f) 22 days ago, though was again well positioned.
Kitsune Power (IRE)
Ended a long losing sequence at Beverley in July. Hasn't been in the same form of late, though got further back than ideal when sixth of 9 over this C&D 13 days ago. Now 3 lb below his last winning mark so he's not ruled out.
Haltonwood (IRE)
Took a step forward when making the frame first 2 starts in handicaps. After 4 months off (had a breathing operation), possibly needed the outing more than the market expected when fifth of 9 at Newcastle 2 weeks ago. This run should reveal more.
Tiberio Force
Off the mark for the year in a Ripon classified event in August and has shaped as if still in good heart back in handicaps last 2 starts, suffering interference when seventh of 9 at Newcastle on latest outing.
Bumaan
NON RUNNER.
