MECENE impressed with his hurdling when getting off the mark at Taunton in the spring and can make a winning return at the chief expense of Trigg who wasn't at his best when an odds-on third at Perth when last seen out but still rates a big threat for the all-conquering Skelton yard. Hurdling debutant Danza Kuduro appeals as the pick of the rest for the minor honours.

Timeform Comments

Trigg
Bumper winner who made an impressive winning start over hurdles in 2m maiden at Uttoxeter in May. Failed to build on it when an odds-on third of 7 in novice hurdle at Perth (2½m, good to soft) following month. Remains with potential after a break though for top yard.
Danza Kuduro (IRE)
6/1, hinted at promise with fourth of 5 in bumper at Exeter (17f, good to soft) on debut in April. This Jet Away gelding can't be ruled out on his hurdles bow.
Itsjustthewayiam (IRE)
Failed to complete in 3 Irish points, though 3 lengths up when unseated rider last on final run. Given a considerate introduction to hurdling when sixth of 7 in novice at Hereford (2½m, good) in March. This Affinisea gelding can do better in the longer term.
Horethorne (IRE)
Geordieland gelding hinted at promise when third in bumper at Exeter on debut in April but beat only two in similar company at Fontwell following month. Needs to take a step forward now going hurdling.
Jubilee Jack
Well beaten all 3 starts in bumpers last season. Had a breathing operation (also hooded for first time) before coming in last of 10 in novice at Chepstow (2m, good to soft) on hurdles bow 8 days ago.
Mecene (FR)
Progressive son of Tunis who cosily landed the odds in 8-runner juvenile hurdle at Taunton (2m, good to soft) in March, making all and jumping well. Looks to have more to offer. Big shout.
Squib
Sent off 11/2 but always behind when ninth of 10 in bumper at Hereford (2m, soft) on debut 7 months ago. This son of Masterstroke makes his hurdles debut.
Silver Whisper
Looked a tricky ride when twice placed in Fontwell in the spring. No promise sent hurdling over C&D and in 2m Worcester maiden this autumn.
