Useful bumper winner ONE KNIGHT is the one to beat if back on song. Katarcice and Tao Enki both look credible dangers.

Timeform Comments

Emerald West
Fared no better than he did in a bumper when pulled up on recent hurdling debut at Worcester (2½m, soft).
Katarcice (FR)
Runner-up in points and third in a Huntingdon bumper on Rules debut. Fair placed form in novice/maiden hurdles over the spring/summer. Shaped better than the 17¾-length beaten distance in a novice series final at Worcester (2½m) on return/handicap debut. Easy to make a case for back in a maiden.
Master Potter
£1,000 3-y-o, Masterstroke gelding. Half-brother to useful hurdler Potters Story, probably stayed 3m. Cheap purchase given pedigree (from family of Denman). Hit the frame on his last 2 starts in points during the spring. Usual blinkers retained and he may prove one for the longer term under Rules.
Mr Rafiki (IRE)
Made more impact than previously when runner-up in a weak, slowly-run Worcester maiden hurdle (23f) in July. Since fallen both starts over fences (not going well when departing here last time) and this looks a tough ask back hurdling, even with yard going well.
One Knight (IRE)
Fragile sort who was useful in bumpers (ridden by this claimer both wins). Perhaps found the quick turnaround against him when down the field in an Aintree Grade 2 that's working out well. Easy to forgive end-of-season hurdling debut defeat, too, and he may well make it second time lucky up in trip.
Tao Enki (FR)
Low-mileage 6-y-o. Produced an improved effort in first-time cheekpieces when runner-up at Hereford (2m) in May. Easy to back when failing to reproduce that form over C&D later that month. Returns with yard among the winners and probably worth another chance over a trip expected to suit.
Seamy Appletart (IRE)
No show in a couple of bumpers. Showed a good deal more when 7½-length second in a weak race on hurdling debut at Down Royal (2½m) in late-August. Hood added on first start since leaving J. G. Cosgrave and looks a potential improver up in trip for capable new yard.
