EMMA'S LETTER still looked in good form having met significant trouble in running over C&D last month and she gets the nod. Thankfully shaped well on her first try over this far at Ayr last month and is also considered, whilst Captain Fox has slipped to what looks a competitive mark.

Sole success came in a Beverley maiden (8.5f) on return. Started better than has often been the case and returned to form when third of 7 in handicap at Ayr (1¼m, soft, 12/1) 30 days ago, running on after hitting a flat spot. Player.
Emma's Letter
Won at Nottingham and Newmarket this summer (both 1¼m) and was better than the result when fifth of 12 in handicap (6/1) at this C&D 23 days ago, keeping on when badly hampered 1f out. Can go well again.
Seacole (IRE)
Has shown fair form so far, running well when second of 6 in novice at Epsom (1¼m) 20 days ago, clear of the rest. In good hands but needs to find more as she goes back up in trip returned to handicap company.
Caledonian
Made a winning all-weather/handicap debut at this course (7f) in November 2024. Took a step back in the right direction from a less-than-ideal position when fifth of 13 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 88 days ago, though hold-up run style means he remains somewhat of a hostage to fortune.
Captain Fox (IRE)
Confirmed the promise he had shown at 2 yrs when making a winning return in Lingfield novice in February. Has edged down in the weights in handicaps and shaped as if still in decent form when fourth of 10 in handicap at Bath (1¼m, firm, 6/1) 18 days ago. Respected with cheekpieces retained.
Khepri (USA)
Failed to improve fitted with visor in handicaps last 2 starts. Headgear now discarded but isn't sure to want as far as this.
