Timeform View

Despite meeting with defeat for the first time, ARAPAHO GOLD arguably enhanced his reputation trying to concede weight all round in the Mill Reef at Newbury and he looks a very solid proposition in this good-quality opening race. Inner City Blues remains a top prospect despite a slightly underwhelming effort in the Middle Park, while Night In Vegas has already had a lucrative season and can make his presence felt again.

Timeform Comments

Adaay Of Scarlett (IRE)
Early-season juvenile with wins at Newmarket and this venue in the spring. Runner-up next 4 outings at listed/Group 2 level, including Coventry Stakes over C&D. Recent efforts suggest a busy campaign has caught up with him and this is another tough assignment on the back of a gelding operation.
Arapaho Gold (IRE)
Impressive winner on first 2 starts at Thirsk before taking step up to listed level in his stride at Newbury. Displayed a cracking attitude in the Gimcrack at York (6f) in August and did very little wrong when tasting defeat for the first time conceding weight in Mill Reef Stakes. Sets the standard.
Confucius (IRE)
Decisive winner of a Naas maiden on second start and he progressed further when sixth in the Coventry at Royal Ascot. However, hasn't scaled same heights since and no surprise a quick experiment with blinkers is shelved having pulled hard in the Middle Park Stakes 3 weeks ago.
Crusherman (IRE)
Left debut form well behind when winning 10-runner maiden at Newbury (6.5f, firm) in August. Too free to see out 7f when last of 10 to Amusingly pitched into the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp and this another stiff task.
Inner City Blues (IRE)
€900,000 breeze-up buy who fully confirmed promise of his debut win at York when following up in 3-runner Group 2 on the July Course, readily beating the Coventry runner-up. Failed to meet expectations when favourite for the Middle Park Stakes 3 weeks ago but a bounce back looks on the cards.
Night In Vegas (IRE)
Has already had a superb season, scooping his third valuable sales pot upped to 7f for the first time at Newmarket 2 weeks ago. That form isn't far removed from the best on offer and he's a tough and likeable sort.
Oakford (IRE)
Continued theme of race-by-race progress when landing 15-runner maiden at Newbury 4 weeks ago. Had plenty in hand on that occasion but another jolt of improvement is required in this company.
Satellite Of Love (IRE)
Looked a good prospect when winning maiden at Windsor on debut and a novice at Newbury. Well below-par under much softer ground conditions at York (6f) after but greatly improved when a clear second of 17 to Night In Vegas and backed that up when going one place better in the Two-Year-Old Trophy.
Theheatison
Novice winner at Bath in July but limit fairly established after and it's a couple of notches below this one.
Victory Gold (IRE)
Going the right way, again ridden positively when doubling tally in a 7f nursery at Sandown in August. Return to 6f no issue but dominating this bunch is a different assignment.
Speed Of Sound (IRE)
Shaped well when placed in a York sales race after shedding her maiden status at Yarmouth and showed her opening mark to be all wrong when a dominant winner at Doncaster (6.5f) last month. Was run out of it late on upped to 7f in the Rockfel Stakes and on that evidence, return to 6f is a good move.
