Timeform View

BLACKWATER SOLDIER has quickly set about making up for lost time since returning from a lengthy absence and is fancied to go one better than last time. Tantrum Boy looks the main danger if building on his Wexford run while Calzaghi, who should appreciate the drop in trip, is also capable of playing a part along with Run For The Border.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Tantrum Boy traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts: Sunrise Strider traded at 10% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP twice on 3 of its last 4 starts.

Timeform Comments

Lincall (FR)
Stepped up from stable debut and unlucky not to win when neck second of 11 to Eternal Reward in maiden hurdle at Clonmel 16 days ago, over a length in front when bad mistake last. More needed stepping back into handicap company.
Calzaghi (IRE)
Fairly useful Flat winner. Yet to get anywhere near that level over hurdles but shaped vastly better than the bare result when 18½ lengths ninth of 15 to Private Policy in 23f handicap at Clonmel last time, travelling better than most but not getting home. The shorter trip here will suit.
Ladiam (IRE)
Turned in best effort of the season when winning 17-runner handicap at Listowel last month by 2½ lengths from Drumadeise. A 6 lb rise for that success makes life tougher, though.
Cahirdown Boy (IRE)
Veteran who hasn't won for over 2 years, though probably would have done if not losing his rider at the last in a handicap chase at Cork in January. Hinted at a revival when 12¼ lengths third of 10 to Kilbrin Rocco at Killarney. Reverts to hurdling from lower mark.
Run For The Border (IRE)
Course maiden hurdle winner last autumn. Largely held her form well in handicaps this summer, chasing home a fairly useful one at Ballinrobe (2¾m) in September and would probably have made the frame but for a late error at Listowel last time. Should again run well.
Loi Des Jeux (FR)
Won 19.5f handicap at Clonmel in May and showed further progress when 3½ lengths second of 15 to Marian Avenue at Listowel on return from 4-month break last time. Both the third and fourth at Listowel have won since, so of obvious interest off just 3 lb higher, though longer trip is a slight unknown
Walk Away Harry (IRE)
Bumper winner but has gone the wrong way over hurdles and has cut very little ice over fences on 3 of his last 4 starts.
Tudorista (IRE)
Maiden hurdler. Posted best effort to date when neck second of 20 to At The Wings at Gowran last time. Has gone back up 3 lb and needs to back that up now but should be suited by this slightly longer trip.
Trackman Tommy (IRE)
(Won a point in February of this year and made the frame back over hurdles last time, though made hard work of things and will need to step forward from that here.
Ardera Gun (IRE)
Ran creditably when 10 lengths third of 13 to The Ducks Walk at Gowran last time, going in snatches. Has plenty to find on form.
Blackwater Soldier (IRE)
Winning pointer. Returned from long absence with a promising effort at Ballinrobe and stepped up on that performance in first-time tongue strap when 8 lengths second of 13 to James The Brave in handicap at Killarney last time.
Sunrise Strider (IRE)
Little show in a handful of starts over hurdles, including in handicaps last 2 starts.
Set The Tone (IRE)
Landed 3m Wexford handicap hurdle in July and took a step forward from previous chasing starts when 4¾ lengths second of 13 to Fr Gilligansvoyge at Tramore following month. Unplaced on last 2 starts over fences, though, and now reverts to hurdling off higher mark.
Tantrum Boy (IRE)
Showed improved form when ½-length second of 14 to Sekakarma in handicap hurdle at Wexford (2½m, good, 6/1) in August. Shaped much better than the result suggests when well held at Galway last time, racing wider than most. One to consider.
Middlethird Marvel
No form in bumpers or in maiden hurdles. Makes handicap debut.
Whatyouwant (IRE)
Has popped up with a handicap win in the previous 2 calendar years. She's blown more cold than hot this time around, though. Blinkers replace cheekpieces and has fallen below last winning mark but others make more appeal.
Port Rashid (IRE)
On a lengthy losing run and this looks a big ask on the back of a 10-month absence.
Likable Chancer (IRE)
Tramore handicap chase winner last summer. Has mixed hurdling and chasing since but went off the boil in the spring and will need to hit the ground running on return from 149-day break.
Inchidaly Copper (IRE)
Much less consistent this season but shaped as if back in form when 21½ lengths fourth of 13 to James The Brave at Killarney last time, travelling better than usual and second when bad mistake 3 out. Can make an impact if building on that effort. RESERVE.
Synchronize (IRE)
Little impact in handicap hurdles and recent exploits don't suggest that is likely to change now. RESERVE.
