Timeform View

KING CUAN was most impressive on return at the Curragh and it may pay to keep the faith on his first start over 1m. Faiyum is feared most in receipt of weight from the field, while stable debutant Dublin's Knight needs a close look in the market on belated return.

Timeform Comments

King Cuan
Produced a career best when making a smart winning return in the Concorde Stakes at the Curragh (7f, soft). Did that in taking fashion (runner-up has franked the form) and well worth a go over 1m at this stage of his career (2-2 at 7f). Looks classy enough to defy a penalty.
Zodiac Bear (IRE)
Low-mileage 4-y-o. Showed a good attitude/capitalised on the run of the race when landing listed event at the Curragh (1m) in June. Cheekpieces quickly discarded after failing to give his running in Group 2 there the following month (reportedly bled). Will need to resume progress to win this.
Dublin's Knight (IRE)
Expensive Night Of Thunder colt. Beat 2 subsequent Grade 1 winners and a listed winner when winning a Keeneland maiden on final start in the States, quickening clear impressively. Fascinating contender for top yard following 18 months away, for all the ground is an unknown.
Iron Fist (IRE)
Useful handicapper. Ran well on form when runner-up on first crack at listed company at Listowel, though was well positioned and again looked a somewhat tricky race. Something to find for connections who've won the previous 2 renewals of this race.
Key Witness (IRE)
Improving handicapper with fine record on heavy ground at this track. Only denied by a lightly-raced 3-y-o on return at Naas (7f, soft) 8 days ago. Return to 1m no issue but step into listed company demands more again.
Lewis Carroll (IRE)
Well-bred 3-y-o who was much improved from his debut when landing Curragh maiden (7f heavy) in March. Progressed again when 5½ lengths fourth of 10 to King Cuan over the same C&D last time, travelled fluently/had to wait for gap 2f out. May do better over this longer trip for top yard.
Faiyum
Highly progressive Group 3 winner as a 3-y-o. Ran well in defeat without scaling those heights this year, collared on the line in listed race at Naas (1m, soft) 7 days ago. Solid claims to make amends, provided the quick turnaround doesn't take its toll at this late stage of the season.
