PLAYIN COOL is still low mileage and can build on his encouraging effort in the Irish Cambridgeshire to land this prize. Majestic King arrives in great form and is also shortlisted, alongside the hat-trick seeking Uncle Goalie and recent Listowel winner Morehampton.

Timeform Comments

Dragon Of Malta (IRE)
Completed the rare feat of winning races on successive days for the second year running at Listowel's Harvest Festival last month, the latter coming in an 11-runner handicap. Remains to be seen whether he can reproduce that form elsewhere, though.
Johnny Soda (IRE)
Progressive sort who won for the third time this season at Killarney in July. Very good third of 22 at the Curragh (1¼m) last month but beaten favourite when seventh of 10 there (9f, soft, 3/1) 14 days ago.
Pink Oxalis (IRE)
Arrives in good order, posting yet another creditable effort when 2 lengths sixth of 18 to Rebel Wave in handicap at Leopardstown last month. Could've done with a stronger gallop but shaped as if still in form when fifth of 9 in handicap at Navan (1m, good to soft) 11 days ago.
Morehampton (IRE)
Placed 2 starts prior to ending a long losing run in a 7-runner handicap (3/1) at Listowel (1m, good to soft) 26 days ago by 1¾ lengths from Highbury See See. Got first run there but should give another good account after 8 lb rise.
Unauthorized (IRE)
Better for return when landing a Listowel handicap (6.3f) in May and best effort yet (hooded) when second over 7f at the Curragh in September. Disappointing across his last 3 starts, though.
Booyea (IRE)
On a lengthy losing run but went close in a competitive handicap at the Curragh and made the frame in the Irish Cambridgeshire this summer. Not quite so good on his last 2 starts, though, and now goes back up in trip.
Playin Cool (IRE)
Low mileage 4-y-o shaped well again when fifth in the Irish Cambridgeshire in August, probably not ideally placed having sat off what was just an ordinary gallop. Interesting after a 3 lb drop.
Uncle Goalie (IRE)
Stepped up on previous performances when scraping home in a 13-runner 1m Leopardstown maiden in August. Improved again despite making his handicap debut from just out of the weights when winning a 10-runner event at the Curragh (7f, good to soft) 22 days ago by neck from Eddie G. 3 lb higher now.
Vega's Muse
Much improved when doubling her tally at C&D on reappearance but not at that level since, albeit perhaps needing the outing when 10¾ lengths twelfth of 13 to Braida in listed race at Longchamp (1m, good) 45 days ago.
Eddie G (IRE)
Dual 7f handicap scorer at Naas and Galway later in July and ran his best race since when a neck second of 10 to Uncle Goalie in handicap at the Curragh (7f, good to soft, 11/1) 22 days ago. Is perhaps slightly more effective over that trip but merits respect nonetheless.
Flanker Jet
Much improved when landing conditions event at Dundalk (6f) in March. Entitled to have needed the outing after a 7-month break when thirteenth of 16 in handicap at the Curragh (1m, soft) 14 days ago but remains unproven over this far.
Oro Blanco (IRE)
Won 7f Fairyhouse maiden and 6f Naas novice (match) in June. Posted another creditable effort when third at the Curragh last month, though once more looked less than straightforward and again wasn't the easiest conveyance when sixth of 10 at Naas (7f, soft, 5/1) 8 days ago.
Majestic King (IRE)
Got back on the up when readily doubling his tally in 15-runner handicap at Listowel (1m, good to soft) last month, admittedly well drawn. Better than ever from a 10 lb higher mark when third of 10 at the Curragh (9f, soft) 14 days ago and he can give another good account.
Son Of Beauty (IRE)
Winner of 1m maiden at Dundalk in March and had been running well in handicaps until a poor effort when sent off favourite at Gowran (9.5f) in June. Worth betting check after a break.
Highbury See See (IRE)
Took this 12 months ago and has shaped well when second in 1m handicaps at Cork and Listowel last month, unlucky not to reel in Morehampton on the latter. Effort rather fizzled out when just sixth of 16 in handicap at the Curragh (1m, soft) 14 days ago. Cheekpieces on 1st time.
Terre De Vega
Runner-up in this last season but little to shout about across 4 starts in 2026. Major bounce back required.
