The vote goes to SIR JEREMY, who's been catching the eye in similar events of late. Thatwilldoso and Truth Be Told head the dangers, with Sky Captain, Handani and Latin America also likely to play a hand in this wide-open handicap.

Timeform Comments

Sky Captain (IRE)
Low-mileage 5-y-o who won a Roscommon maiden (1½m) on debut last summer. Runner-up on each of his 3 subsequent outings for Paddy Twomey. Career best when sixth in Irish Cesarewitch (17f, heavy) on second start for present yard. Likely type with forecast strong pace in his favour back down in trip.
Truth Be Told (IRE)
Completed a double when scoring on stable debut here (1¼m) in May. Has advanced his form in defeat, further back than ideal when 1¾ lengths sixth of 21 to Immutable in the Petingo here (13f) latest. Makes plenty of appeal in his current mood.
Immutable (IRE)
Runner-up in top-end handicap at Galway before gamely going one better in a similar event here (13f). Shaped like a non-stayer under a penalty in Irish Cesarewitch last time. Probably needs a career best back down in trip off his revised mark.
Latin America (IRE)
Improving 3-y-o from a very good yard. May have needed the run/wasn't ideally placed when fifth in listed race at Killarney (11f, soft) latest. First-time cheekpieces/bigger field likely to suit and his opening mark looks a potentially handy one.
Pillar Of Hope
Opened account for the season with a comfortable success at Down Royal last month. May still have had a bit up his sleeve when following up in Roscommon handicap (soft) 6 days ago. Again has ground in his favour, however, this is a significant step up in class.
Too Bossy For Us (IRE)
Free-going sort. Again ran well when close third to Immutable at Leopardstown (13f) last month. Since ran poorly over longer trip/under testing conditions in Irish Cesarewitch (for second year running). Perhaps a strongly-run 1½m will prove more his bag here. Tongue strap refitted.
Night Moon (GER)
Borderline useful performer. Backed up his Fairyhouse reappearance success when third of 18 in handicap at Galway Festival (1½m, soft). Shaped as if still in good form behind Immutable here since. Tongue strap on first time in this sphere and one to consider with Colin Keane booked.
Handani (IRE)
From an excellent family. Off the mark at the fourth attempt in 21-runner maiden at Navan (1¼m) 16 days ago. Improved again when following up on handicap debut at Listowel (1½m, good to soft). Further progress likely given his pedigree and could make a bold bid for a hat-trick.
Leopold The First (IRE)
Chased home subsequent Group 2 winner in 4-runner conditions event at Gowran (9.5f) in June (albeit flattered by his proximity). Not in same form since, however, still relatively unexposed upped in trip for first handicap start on turf.
Thatwilldoso (IRE)
Arrives at the top of her game. Only denied a third victory in 4 starts by a highly progressive 3-y-o at Doncaster (1½m, good to firm, 50/1) last time. Versatile regards ground and expected to be firmly in the shake-up once again.
Arch Enemy (IRE)
Has been making hay in lower grades in recent months, notching a double/fourth win of the year with a career-best success at Bellewstown (12.5f, soft) last time. Now back on same mark as when successful in this corresponding event in 2024.
Sir Jeremy (IRE)
Showed improved form when successful in first-time blinkers at Galway Festival this summer. Shaping up well in defeat since, travelling as well as any over a trip that probably stretched him when third in Premier Handicap at Naas (2m, soft) 7 days ago. Can resume winning ways back over 1½m.
Teoest (IRE)
Steadily progressive 3-y-o from family yard knows well. Split a couple of next-time-out winners when second at Listowel prior to going one better at Roscommon (10.5f, soft) latest. Step back up in trip will benefit on handicap bow, though likely needs a decent step forward in this sort of company.
Game Point (IRE)
Fairly useful maiden who finished runner-up on 4 consecutive starts for Ger Lyons last summer. Has improved over jumps of late (completing double in listed handicap latest) and his Flat mark now looks a potentially attractive one.
Youcansaythatagain (IRE)
Fairly useful 3-y-o. Didn't build on an encouraging start in handicaps when 7¾ lengths sixth of 14 to Pillar of Hope in handicap (9/2) at Down Royal (13f), pushed along over 4f before his stamina ebbed away. Return to shorter could yield a better showing.
Speckled Meadow (IRE)
Only won once since her course win (1m, heavy) in spring 2024. Did run one of her better recent races when runner-up in handicap (10/1) at Naas (10.5f, soft) 7 days ago. Tougher task back up in grade, though.
Kimy (FR)
Fair runner-up in Tramore maiden over this trip in July. Arrives in good heart following a second on chasing debut at the same track earlier this month, however, tough ask at the weights on second handicap start in this sphere. RESERVE.
