Timeform View

MERISI DIAMOND has quickly dropped to 2 lb below the mark he defied here in the spring and is worth siding with under Dylan Browne McMonagle. Second choice is Nouvel Espoir, who has been in cracking form since the start of the summer and also has the services of a top jockey. All The Girls is well handicapped on all-weather form and is also shortlisted along with Tolebi.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

A strongly contested lead could count against Merisi Diamond and Spodo Komodo, who are expected to contest that lead: Such a hotly-contested pace as is on the cards here may be to the benefit of Nouvel Espoir and Lilli's Angel who can be expected to be ridden with restraint.

Timeform Comments

Nouvel Espoir (IRE)
Has proved a model of consistency of late, building on a string of seconds when readily taking 22-runner C&D handicap (soft) this month. Respectable fifth of 13 in a stronger race here last week. Player under Colin Keane.
Lilli's Angel (IRE)
Lightly-raced winner. Career best when winning 13-runner maiden (15/8) at Navan (6f, good to soft) 13 days ago, staying on well. Pitched into a competitive race for handicap debut but has obvious unexposed potential.
Motta Alta (IRE)
Successful on second of 2 starts in maidens for Jarlath Fahey and even better form when third in handicaps over 7f/1m for new yard. First backward step of career when well-held fifth dropped to 6f at Cork 3 weeks ago but connections are prepared to give her another chance at the trip.
Real Force
Course winner. Below form when 8 lengths thirteenth of 22 to Nouvel Espoir over C&D (soft) 16 days ago but entitled to be sharper for that first outing in 6 months.
Spodo Komodo
C&D winner. Creditable fourth of 10 at Naas (7f, soft) 10 days ago, keeping on despite carrying his head awkwardly.
Tropical Retreat (IRE)
C&D winner but last of 11 on Fairyhouse reappearance in July and off again since.
Tolebi (FR)
Regular slow starter who again wasn't seen to best effect under this 10-lb claimer when 5¼ lengths eighth of 22 to Nouvel Espoir over C&D (soft) 16 days ago. Cheekpieces on first time. Not the easiest to win with but he's well capable off this mark if things go right.
Ballintogher (IRE)
9/4, career best when winning 6-runner maiden at Dundalk (6f) for Daniel James Murphy last November but absent since ahead of this handicap debut for a new trainer.
Go Athletico (FR)
C&D winner. Eighteen runs since last win in 2025. Creditable fourth over C&D this month but not in same form back here since.
Gypsy Queen (IRE)
Won 6f Fairyhouse maiden last spring but seen only 3 times since. Entitled to come for her recent first outing in 4 months at Roscommon (7.5f, soft).
Heddon Street (IRE)
Had a win and 2 seconds to show from a trio of 6f outings for Michael Bell but well held on 5f course handicap debut for new yard 24 days ago. Needs to leave that behind.
Nakamura (IRE)
Recorded back-to-back nursery wins over 6f last year. Returned to his best when runner-up at Fairyhouse (6f) in June but below form all 4 starts since.
Michael's Well (IRE)
Off the mark at the second attempt at Navan last October but hasn't fired in his 4 starts this year, most recently when seventh of 22 to Nouvel Espoir over C&D (soft) 16 days ago.
All The Girls (IRE)
Winless this season but posted an excellent second over 6f at Dundalk in August. Another creditable effort when fourth there last time and is dangerously well treated off a lower turf mark.
Apache Outlaw (IRE)
Course winner. Twenty nine runs since last win in 2024. Ninth of 20 in handicap at this course (7f, soft) 5 days ago. A first-time visor (replacing cheekpieces) needs to make the difference.
Merisi Diamond (IRE)
C&D winner. Latest win over 7f here in April. Respectable third of 11 in handicap (3/1) at Galway (7f, soft) 42 days ago. Now 2 lb below the mark he defied here in the spring. Gets the nod under McMonagle.
Rosato (IRE)
Had eased to 4 lb below her last winning mark and readily took advantage in 22-runner event at Navan (6f, good to soft) 13 days ago, maintaining her unbeaten record over that C&D. Well held at Leopardstown on Sunday, however.
