ABSURDE was never involved back from a break here last month but stands out on form and is the one to beat. Last year's winner Sirius and the lightly-raced Contorsion may give him most to think about.

Timeform Comments

The Mediator (IRE)
Regular in amateur races and ran respectably in C&D handicap earlier this month. Ran poorly over hurdles since, though and faces a stiff task in these terms.
Narlita (GER)
Posted a solid fifth in listed race at Galway last month but unable to make much impact back in handicap company and Bellewstown minor event since. Up against it.
Sirius (FR)
Looked as good as ever when successful in this contest 12 months ago and found improvement when very good second of 30 in handicap over longer trip at this course 23 days ago. Likely contender.
Bay Of Stars
Confirmed promise of 2-y-o debut when winning 1½m maiden at Dundalk in April and progressed in handicaps since, latest when good third of 8 over longer trip at Listowel 28 days ago, nearest finish. Visored for first time. Each-way claims.
Shosholoza (IRE)
Hasn't matched the pick of his useful juvenile form in 4 starts this season but wasn't seen to best effect over a longer trip here last month and has the assistance of good amateur here.
Absurde (FR)
Admirable dual-purpose performer who finished eighth in the Melbourne Cup last year. Well held, back from 5 months off, over longer trip here last month and much better expected on this occasion.
Hunters Run (IRE)
Dual winner for Richard Hughes in 2024 but not seen for almost 2 years and has plenty to find on first start for new yard here. Tongue strap on for first time.
Mister Adam
Off the mark at Leopardstown over this trip in May but well below that form at same course when last seen in July. Plenty to find on form.
Puppet Master (IRE)
Winner of the Lingfield Derby Trial for Aidan O'Brien last year and opened his account over hurdles for new yard this summer. Arrives on back of creditable third of 6 in minor event over shorter trip at Punchestown 35 days ago and will benefit from this stiffer test of stamina.
Contorsion (USA)
Pretty useful form in 2 outings in France for Andre Fabre at the start of last summer and wasn't seen to best effect, on first start for Joseph O'Brien, when fifth of 10 in listed race at Gowran (1¾m, good to soft) in May. Respected.
