Timeform View

SPEEDING BULLET has worked his way back to form this season, shaping as if a step back up to 6f would suit when second at Pontefract last time, so he could be set to strike from 5 lb below his last winning mark. Macedonian is next on the list on the back of going close over this C&D, ahead of Mayo County.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Macedonian traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP twice on its last 5 starts: Wish This traded at 25% or less of Betfair SP and 50% or less of Betfair SP on 2 of its last 5 starts.

Timeform Comments

Hectic
Without a win so far this year but placed twice at Southwell in August. However, wasn't in quite the same form when seventh of 9 at the same course (7f) last time. Now switches back to cheekpieces.
Wish This
C&D winner on final outing last year. Low-key start to the current campaign but bounced back to his best when runner-up at this course (7f) in July. Sixth of 8 in a higher grade here 6 weeks ago, but this should be more suitable.
Speeding Bullet (IRE)
Turned in his best effort of the season when runner-up at this course (5f) in September and has continued in good heart in 2 subsequent outings, keeping on for second in 12-runner contest at Pontefract 15 days ago. Major player with return to 6f promising to suit.
Rye
Belatedly off the mark when narrowly taking 11-runner handicap at Wolverhampton last month. Creditable fourth of 11 at the same course 3 weeks ago and she can give another good account.
Mayo County
Opened account for the year in comfortable fashion at Redcar (7f) in May. Back in cheekpieces, ran to a similar level when third of 10 over C&D 18 days ago and she remains on a workable mark based on last season's form. Merits consideration.
Woolridge
Took a step back in the right direction when fourth at Yarmouth in August and, after a lesser effort next time, finally got off the mark in 12-runner handicap over C&D 8 days ago. However, was seen to good effect from the front on latest outing and now has to carry a penalty.
Jet Warrior
Twice a winner over 6f on turf in May when trained by Ben Haslam. No better than mid-division in 4 starts for current yard, though did fare a bit better when fifth of 9 at Southwell 10 days ago. Others still more persuasive.
Pit Boss
Regular slow starter who managed to win twice over C&D earlier in the year. Well below that level in pair of turf starts last month, but was beaten only 2 lengths when eighth of 12 over this C&D 8 days ago. Cheekpieces/tongue strap back on, though needs things to drop right.
Macedonian (IRE)
Benefited from the fitting of a visor when runner-up at Ayr in August. Not entirely seen to best effect next 2 outings, before getting back on track when neck second of 12 to Woolridge over this C&D 8 days ago. Can make his presence felt.
Sedgemoor (IRE)
Dual C&D winner early in the year but largely below form since, again finishing well held when last of 6 at Newmarket (7f) in July. Reverts to the blinkers after 3 months off.
Victory Sound (IRE)
Took advantage of his much-reduced mark in 7f handicap here last month and ran at least as well when third of 13 here 18 days ago. This course suits well, though he now drops back to 6f for only the second time.
Lord Abama (IRE)
Went with a lot more encouragement than previously this season with blinkers back on when third over C&D in September. Backed that up when fourth of 12 here 6 days later, despite the blindfold being removed late. Lurks on a dangerous mark.
Approaching Dawn (IRE)
Often starts slowly but gained a first success in handicap at Musselburgh (1m) in June and also scored in classified event at Ayr in July. Has shaped as if still in decent heart the last twice, racing too freely when well held at Musselburgh last time. Drops back in trip.
