Timeform View

MILD MAGIC was on the up when finishing runner-up here on her final start of last season, and she looks the percentage call. Burning Embers could be much better than she's shown to date and is feared (especially if supported), while Where's Cato is by no means a back number.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Mild Magic traded at a low of 1.78 and Betfair SP of 3.28 when losing last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field and travelled strongly early on.

Timeform Comments

Where's Cato (IRE)
Winning pointer who scored second time up over hurdles at Exeter (21.5f, good). Didn't kick on after a successful debut over fences at Huntingdon (3m) last season. Given a considerate return to hurdling at Chepstow earlier this month. Could well make more impact up in trip on first start in a 0-100.
Grey Gamble (IRE)
Looked an out-and-out stayer when showing first hurdle form to finish 9¼-length fourth at Market Rasen (23f) in June. Isn't best judged on her short-lived handicap debut at Uttoxeter (22/1) the following month (made early mistakes), for all her mark still demands more.
Burning Embers (IRE)
Definite signs of ability when beaten 3 lengths (blanket finish) in bumper on debut. Quietly campaigned by top yard since, well held on handicap bow/return at Chepstow (2m) following a breathing operation. Could prove a different model over 3m in headgear, with Harry Skelton aboard first time.
Mild Magic (IRE)
Low-mileage 6-y-o. Steadily progressed in low-grade handicaps last season, again prominent in the market when smooth-travelling second over C&D in April. Yard excels with this type, and she has solid claims to go one better on return.
Stamina Chope (FR)
C&D-winning veteran who was successful in 2½m mares handicaps over fences and hurdles (soft/heavy) last season. Entitled to come on for her reappearance at Worcester last month, but she could be one for when the rain arrives.
