Timeform View

NAZARIO looks well treated on his C&D fourth last month. He gets the nod over Cisterna, who won easily at Roscommon last week, while Caislean Ni Cuan is worth considering with Colin Keane aboard first time.

Timeform Comments

Cisterna (IRE)
Underlined his yard's excellent form when doubling his Roscommon/career tally under a change of tactics there (7.5f, soft) 7 days ago. Consistency hasn't been his strong suit up to this point, however, he still looks on a handy mark if backing up that performance.
Dandymaria (IRE)
Lightly-raced 3-y-o. Finished as close as she has in maidens when 1-length fifth at Dundalk (7f) last time. Hardly exposed stepping into handicap company, for all she looks to have a bit to find at the weights.
Nazario (IRE)
Finished 2 lengths fourth in a stronger C&D event last month. Didn't justify support when beaten 7½ lengths on his latest start at Dundalk. Now 4 lb lower than his previous run at this course and is beginning to look attractively handicapped for a good yard.
Socratea (IRE)
Hasn't progressed from staying-on seventh in 1m Naas maiden on debut (bred to stay well). Handicaps likely to have always been the plan but stall 14 hardly looks ideal for this drop back in trip.
Sunrise Angel (IRE)
Back to form when a clear-cut winner at Cork (1m) in August. Still in good form when anchored by 9 lb rise here (9.5f) subsequently, finishing fifth in big-field handicap. His usual apprentice now prefers Cisterna.
Venetian Star (IRE)
Maiden who went close in 3-y-o handicaps at Fairyhouse/Limerick in first half of this year. Since fallen a long way in the weights following a patchy run of form, beaten 6½ lengths in open company at the Curragh (7f, soft) 4 days ago.
Girl Bear (IRE)
Hasn't kicked on from her handicap debut third at Roscommon (7.5f, good) in June. Wasn't revived by return to that same C&D (soft) last week.
Glamazon (IRE)
First-time cheekpieces added when belatedly off the mark in maiden Ballinrobe in May. Hit and miss for Jessica Harrington thereafter. Below form on rare start without headgear on stable debut at Thurles latest. Return of blinkers/booking of Dylan McMonagle offer hope of a better effort here.
Caislean Ni Cuan (IRE)
Ridden more positively/ran right up to her best when 8 lengths third in maiden at Naas (7f, soft) latest. This looks to be her trip (both previous handicap starts over shorter) and needs considering with Colin Keane aboard first time.
Little Wing (IRE)
Looked to have been brought along steadily in maidens. Offered little at long odds both handicap starts to date. Now 11 lb lower than her opening mark with Billy Lee aboard first time. At least worth a market check.
Nephin Mountain (IRE)
Has some solid form in defeat since doubling his tally at Navan (1m) in August. Hasn't settled in either of his races this month (drops back markedly in trip here), and it may just be that a busy campaign is starting to take its toll.
Orphanina (IRE)
Looked a hard ride when faring no better for the switch to a handicap at Fairyhouse (7f) last time. Hard to be confident she'll be transformed by a tongue strap.
Pocket Jacks (IRE)
Steadily-improving filly in first half of this year. Backed up her previous effort when runner-up in a similar C&D handicap in June. Booking of good-value claimer can only help her cause on return (yard also saddle Dandymaria).
Lar Na Coille (IRE)
From family yard knows well. Showed a bit in couple of maidens last year. Down the field both starts this season, latterly on handicap bow at Leopardstown in June. First-time blinkers added and on a lowly mark for her return.
