WASHINGTON ROYALE quickly got back on track when third in a nursery at Nottingham last time and, with a return to softer ground promising to suit, he is taken to double his tally. Heading the list of dangers is Rex Regum, who arrives on the back of a clear-cut success at Pontefract, while Crowned is also respected in his hat-trick bid.

Timeform Comments

Blessed Voyager (IRE)
Made a successful debut at Newbury (5f) in April before not seen to best effect when runner-up in a pair of 6f novices. Hampered 1f out when down the field in valuable event at the Curragh (7f) 25 days ago, so he could yet do better as he goes handicapping with blinkers added.
Cilician (IRE)
Has found one too strong 4 times from his 7 starts so far, running up to his best when beaten a neck in 8-runner nursery at Sandown (1m) 6 weeks ago. Blinkers now reached for as he bids for a breakthrough success.
Sovereign Glory
Off the mark at the second attempt in a 5f Bath novice in May and improved on nursery debut when making the frame at Glorious Goodwood (6f). Hasn't kicked on the last twice, though, tenth of 17 in sales race at Doncaster (6.5f) 6 weeks ago.
Weekend Roar (IRE)
Stepped forward from his debut effort when winning novice at this venue (6f) in June. Fourth in a valuable event at Naas later in the summer but down the field last 2 starts, failing to beat a rival on nursery debut at Doncaster (7f) 6 weeks ago. Cheekpieces applied.
Reflect On Glory (IRE)
Much improved from his first outing when making all in a Ripon novice (6f) in August. Disappointed on good to soft ground next time, but fared better when 2 lengths third of 5 on nursery debut at Pontefract (good) on latest start. More needed from his current mark.
Whiskey Bent (FR)
In hood and tongue strap, won 7f maiden at Clairefontaine in August and improved further when ¾-length fourth of 8 in nursery at Sandown (1m) last month. Raced too freely without the equipment (now goes back on) when fourth of 6 in listed race at Hanover since.
Down To You Kid (IRE)
Promise when placed on first 2 outings, runner-up in novice at this venue (7f) in June. Hasn't been in the same form the last twice, though shaped as if a return to this trip would suit when second of 7 at Windsor (6f) when last seen (gelded since). Makes nursery debut.
Wolf Bay
Left his first 2 efforts behind when second in a Windsor novice (6f, good to soft) in August. Backed that up when filling the same position in 9-runner nursery at Haydock (7f, soft) 25 days ago, though further progress required here.
It Dunt Marra
Capitalised on return to calmer waters when making it third time lucky in a Lingfield novice (5f) in July. Tough ask in sales race at York (6f), before running poorly on nursery debut at Doncaster last month. Has been gelded since.
Crowned (IRE)
Has been going the right way in nurseries, runner-up twice before going one better at Southwell (6f) last month. Followed up under a penalty at the same course (7f) and he's not taken lightly even as he moves up in grade.
Washington Royale
Confirmed promise of Glorious Goodwood fifth when comfortably winning a Chepstow maiden (soft) in August. Lesser effort on nursery debut, but soon bounced back when third of 10 at Nottingham (good) 20 days ago. Major player back on softer ground.
Mobadir (IRE)
Gelded ahead of winning his first 2 starts in nurseries, at Nottingham (6f) and Newbury (7f) in August. Found things tougher upped to class 3 level when fourth of 6 over this C&D 11 days ago, but he could get back on track here.
Rex Regum
Progressed with each of his first 4 starts and, having had excuses next time, got off the mark in nursery at Pontefract 16 days ago. Scored in emphatic fashion and could still have more to offer now that he's up and running.
Capitano Josepi (IRE)
Justified support on debut when finishing well to score in novice at Yarmouth in August. However, he played up beforehand when finishing well held in a valuable event at York 12 days ago. This should be more suitable making a quick switch to nursery company.
Metamouse (IRE)
Took a step forward when making second start a winning one in a Chester novice (6f) in June. Ran well in defeat next 2 outings and wasn't discredited in 6-runner nursery at Doncaster last time, finishing last but beaten only 3 lengths. Drops back in grade.
Del Pearo (IRE)
Showed much more than on debut when fourth of 10 in novice (7f) at Yarmouth in August, the race won by Capitano Josepi. Couldn't quite match that form when fourth of 7 in maiden at this course (1m) last month, possibly unsuited by the track. Makes nursery debut.
Zambezi Shark
Some encouragement when mid-field in novice at Chester (6f) on debut in July but hasn't found any progress in 2 starts since, eighth of 12 at Southwell on latest outing. Has something to find now switched to nurseries, though he's worth a market check.
