MISTER DES PLACES has a fair mark to exploit on his British debut and having joined a leading stable, further improvement may well be forthcoming. He shades the vote in favour of Leaumec de Mee and Limier D'arthel.

Timeform Comments

Leaumec De Mee (FR)
Shaped well when runner-up only start in bumpers and positive start over hurdles, confirming promise of Fontwell second when going one better at Sedgefield in December. Didn't finish race off with much purpose at Doncaster in February but he couldn't be in better hands.
Mister Des Places (FR)
Second success in France at Moulins in March. Third of 10 in juvenile hurdle at Auteuil (2¼m, heavy) on final run for R. Schmidlin in May and he's since transferred to a very powerful UK yard. Market check essential.
Gaelic Saint
Placed twice from 3 starts in bumpers and has shown fair form over hurdles, running well fast-tracked into a handicap when sixth of 12 at Market Rasen (20.6f) in February. Lesser effort upped in grade at Newbury in March but returns from a break in an easier race.
Limier D'arthel (FR)
Fairly useful French bumper winner was a faller on hurdle/stable debut following 22 months off at Huntingdon in January. Placed both starts in maiden company during the spring (hooded) and he retains plenty of potential in handicaps for powerful owner.
Diamond Jim (IRE)
Forged clear to justify support in junior hurdle at Haydock in December. Looked interesting in handicaps during the spring but well held completed start. Since had a breathing operation and yard yet to hit top form this season.
Longmoor (IRE)
Sans Frontieres gelding who made an encouraging start to his career when 7 lengths third of 9 at Exeter (17f, good) in March. Slowly-run race perhaps against him at Chepstow a month later and now switches to handicaps on return. Mark asks for more.
Savant Du Mesnil (FR)
Minor promise only when trained in Ireland by Stuart Crawford. Pulled up in 2 British points before winning a weak one last time.
Jerseygeordie
Flat winner in Jersey but has taken better to hurdling than may have been expected, placed twice in juvenile company last month. Tongue strap fitted for handicap debut in receipt of healthy age allowance but more is still needed.
