Timeform View

BUCCABAY is well treated on last winter's C&D success and his latest effort was too bad to be true so, with the assistance of Billy Loughnane in the saddle now, he could well bounce back with a win. Both Caragio and Modern Times have shown recent form that makes them of plenty of interest for shrewd yards and could the biggest threats.

Timeform Comments

Caragio (IRE)
Won an 8-runner handicap here over 7f 14 days ago in first-time eyeshields, securing his second course win. 6 lb higher here but can go well again if coping with the drop back to 6f.
Modern Times
Won twice since joining new yard, at Southwell in first-time cheekpieces in July then at Epsom in August. Not disgraced in visor last time but cheekpieces and tongue strap now return and better can't be ruled out given the yard he's not long with.
Serenity Dream (IRE)
Won twice in July-August and placed last 2 outings so looks set to run another good race back over C&D he has won at previously.
Initial Blue (IRE)
Won 4 times this year, including first time out for new trainer at Laytown in September. Only sixth of 13 at Dundalk 26 days ago when found a mark in the 70s beyond him but now returns to a track he goes well at with blinkers and tongue strap reapplied and could figure.
Buccabay (IRE)
Third at Windsor in July and fifth there in August but ran too badly to be true when last of 9 here 16 days ago. First-time tongue strap applied and he was a C&D winner from 4 lb higher mark last December so could go very well if bouncing back.
Marlborough Place (IRE)
Maiden winner over 1m in Ireland last year but regressive for current yard this year and now drops back to 6f for return to all-weather.
Hundred Caps
Last won at Southwell in January and produced respectable fifth of 13 there 18 days ago in a change of headgear. Back below last winning mark and has run well here earlier in the year so not without hope.
Liosa (IRE)
Better performer on all-weather with 2 wins over C&D and turned in his best effort of the season when returning to the surface for the first time in 2026, finishing fourth of 11 14 days ago. Place claims if stepping up on that.
Royal Accord
Back to best when winning a handicap at Nottingham 20 days ago, beating 14 rivals from off the pace for his first success with current yard. 4 lb higher mark to contend with back on all-weather and draw isn't the best.
Receipt
Won over 7f on handicap debut at Southwell in April but has raced too freely since, including when tailed off last of 8 in a handicap here on return from 4 months off last time. Drops to 6f now with plenty to prove.
Elvetham (IRE)
Career-best effort when winning at Lingfield over 5f in September and not seen to best effect when down field upped to this grade last time. This mark demands more but he is a previous C&D winner.
Independent Expert (IRE)
Scored over 7f at Naas for Denis Hogan in March but has yet to scale same heights for new yard. Hard to fancy.
