Timeform View

RIDGER has looked a different beast in recent weeks so Ollie Sangster's progressive 3-y-o is selected to complete the hat-trick at the expense of Iconic Times, who also arrives on a hat-trick but has been off 11 weeks since scrambling home at Catterick. Dark Mandate and Viking Glory are another couple worthy of consideration, too.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Ridger traded at a high of 5.20 and Betfair SP of 1.58 when winning last time, a race in which it raced in mid-field.

Timeform Comments

Gladiadora (IRE)
Building up a better record on all-weather, looking better than ever when scoring at Southwell (1m) last month. Easy enough to excuse her effort there 9 days later (caught wide from a high draw) so worth treating as still in form.
Penfolds Grange
Still looking for a first handicap success but shaped well wearing first-time visor down in 0-65 company when second of 13 over C&D 4 weeks ago, making up lots of ground in the final 1f. Nudged up 1 lb but his turn looks just around the corner.
Iconic Times
Had plenty in hand in refitted headgear at Wolverhampton in late-July after a significant market gamble. Managed to follow up under a penalty by a nose in 7-runner classified event at Catterick (7f, firm) 5 days later and off since. Seems better on synthetics so one to consider.
Travel Agent (IRE)
Recorded back-to-back victories on all-weather in April. Largely below form since so easy to look elsewhere despite a sliding mark.
Berlinetta
Made second start for this trainer a winning one in handicap at Windsor (1m) in July. Similar form in defeat on all 3 subsequent starts, having every chance back on all-weather when seventh of 10 at Newcastle (7f) just under 3 weeks ago. First-time cheekpieces applied.
Eyes Front (IRE)
Posted a career best when belatedly off the mark at Epsom (7f) in late-July and back to that sort of form when creditable third of 13 over C&D last month. Ran badly at Leicester since however, so needs to bounce back.
Dark Mandate
Has made a good start for this yard and showed improved form to get off the mark with the hood discarded in 10-runner event at Wolverhampton (7f) just over 3 weeks ago, wearing down a thriving rival. That was just his third start at the trip so he's of interest again.
Viking Glory (IRE)
Gained a first victory in first-time cheekpieces at Brighton in early-August and was better than he could show back there just over 3 weeks ago (hampered over 1f out). Should remain competitive.
Brave Byreflection (IRE)
Course winner who has struggled this year, fourth of 7 at Chepstow (7f, good to firm) when last seen 3 months ago. Mark is tumbling but she's hard to be confident about on recent evidence.
Credit Forgedd It (IRE)
Yet to win a race but he's never been lower in the weights and got back on track with the return to all-weather in his favour when second of 14 over C&D a fortnight ago, coming home really well. Up to breaking his duck if things drop right.
Manhattan Mirage (IRE)
Hasn't threatened to win a race for current connections, not disgraced in first-time cheekpieces when fifth of 7 at Ffos Las (6f, soft) last month. Hard to recommend.
Ridger (IRE)
Improved to open his account in clear-cut fashion in 11-runner handicap at Wolverhampton last month and made short work of a penalty just a week on in 10-runner handicap over C&D just over a fortnight ago, leading last ½f. 5 lb rise far from insurmountable so fancied to complete the hat-trick.
Pink Diamond Girl
Seems to be heading in the wrong direction so can only be watched.
