Timeform View

This is likely to be won by a hurdling newcomer, with TROJAN TALE given the tentative nod given he was streetwise enough to win on his bumper debut last winter. The Walk did likewise so he's of interest, along with point recruits Common Sense, Oatsoeasy and Potter.

Timeform Comments

Brisky Dancer (FR)
Half-brother to 6 winners, including useful hurdler/very smart chaser Al Dancer (2m-25f winner, by Al Namix) and fairly useful hurdler/smart chaser Gold Dancer (17f-2½m winner). Looked a work-in-progress both hurdles starts last winter.
Common Sense (IRE)
€11,000 3-y-o, £160,000 5-y-o, Workforce gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Spiculas, stayed 2½m, and bumper winner Broken Soul. Wide-margin winner on second of 2 outings in Irish points in April so he could be a good Rules prospect.
Oatsoeasy (IRE)
Berkshire gelding. Half-brother to winning hurdler/fair chaser San Agustin. Dam unraced, out of sister to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Master Oats. Every chance when falling 2 out in his point back in March 2025. Taken a while to get to the track but he's in very capable hands.
Potter (IRE)
Idaho gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (2½m-23f winner) Bells 'N' Banjos. Won only start in points in March and makes hurdling debut for yard among the winners.
The Walk (IRE)
€70,000 Walk In The Park gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to Cheltenham Gold Cup winner (stayed 4m) Native River. Ridden confidently and made no mistake in 6-runner contest at Ascot in November. Found listed race too much a month later but an interesting hurdling debutant.
Trojan Tale (IRE)
Closely related to a winner, and half-brother to 4 winners, including bumper winner/useful hurdler Flash The Steel. Looked a useful prospect when impressive winner of 10-runner bumper at Wincanton in January. Found a slog at Newbury too much a month later but remains a good hurdling prospect.
Tyrrhenus (IRE)
Half-brother to useful hurdler West Balboa and fair hurdler Cottie. Dam unraced half-sister to fair hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 2½m) Clew Bay Cove. Beaten a long way at Chepstow in February 2025 and off since.
Look Don't Stare
Well held in bumpers and similar story over hurdles.
Navarau (FR)
Related to plenty of winners and displayed ability himself when third in a junior hurdle at Taunton in December. Open to progress.
Thunder Thief (IRE)
Ocovango gelding. Dam, fairly useful 2m-3m hurdle winner, half-sister to fairly useful hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 2¼m) Locker Room Talk. Newcomer for leading yard.
