Timeform View

A bumper containing several interesting Rules newcomers, though none more so than WILLOW TIDE, who cost a packet after winning his completed start in Irish points and is the obvious choice before market clue. Poets Express and Pointofdifference are two other likely types who require close market scrutiny.

Timeform Comments

Jet Bay (IRE)
€20,000 3-y-o, Jet Away gelding. Dam, lightly raced, half-sister to winning hurdler/useful chaser (stayed 25f) Full Cry. Easy winner on only start in Irish points (Apr 5) and must enter calculations.
Poets Express (IRE)
€70,000 3-y-o, Poet's Word gelding. Half-brother to numerous winners, including fairly useful hurdler/very smart chaser Gold Present. Makes plenty of appeal on paper for a yard with an excellent record in bumpers.
Pointofdifference
€80,000 3-y-o, Crystal Ocean gelding. Half-brother to numerous winners on Flat, including useful 1½m winner Dubka. Dam smart 1¼m-1½m winner. Successful on both starts in Irish points so warrants plenty of respect.
Willow Tide (IRE)
Crystal Ocean gelding. Dam unraced out of unraced daughter of fairly useful but temperamental 2m hurdler Cailin's Perk, from good jumping family. Bought for £200,000 after winning completed start in Irish points and of obvious interest on Rules debut.
Ashford Breeze
€55,000 3-y-o, Yeats gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner/fair 3m hurdle winner Walk In The Brise and fair 2m hurdle winner Jollie Dame. Bred more for stamina than speed.
Mighty Rhythm
Malinas gelding. Brother to useful hurdler Llandinabo Lad, stayed 2½m. Left poorly placed and never threatened to get competitive in a Bangor bumper on debut back in the spring. Will likely need to leave that form well behind up against some interesting Rules newcomers.
Maya L'abeille (FR)
Cloth of Stars filly who was possibly flattered when 9 lengths ninth of 14 in a steadily-run bumper at Ludlow on debut in December.
