The leniently-treated Joker de Mai is feared most in his bid for a first success for his current yard, although Escapeandevade and Doctors Hill also need factoring into this open handicap.

Ended a run of second placings with success at Haydock (2m) in December. Went off too hard when twelfth of 20 in handicap chase at Punchestown (2m, good) in April. Not out of things.
Excelero (FR)
Got off the mark second time up over fences when making all in 3-runner novice at Warwick (2m) in November but failed to see out his race on all 3 subsequent starts. Questions to answer on his return.
Jaipaletemps (FR)
Enjoyed a prolific past season when a 5-time winner (including twice here, once over C&D) and signed off with a good fourth in handicap chase at Chepstow (19f, good) in April. Goes very well for today's claiming rider and a bold showing is on the cards.
Joker De Mai (FR)
Successful at 2m over fences for Harry Derham in March 2025. Posted a couple of creditable placed efforts in 2½m handicaps for current yard last season and very much one to consider off a handy-looking mark on his return.
Minella Missile (IRE)
Impressive winner of 21f Grade 2 hurdle at Cheltenham as a novice in 2023 but without a victory and largely below par since. Returns for his belated chasing debut here on the back of a breathing operation.
Doctors Hill
A fairly useful 2m winning hurdler last season. Ended with a creditable third of 9 in handicap hurdle at Chepstow (2m, good) in April and possibilities now going chasing.
