Timeform View

Preference is for SILENT CITY, who won over C&D last year before improving further when second in this same event. She is taken to get back to winning ways returned to this track, though Nanoscience arrives in good form and is much respected back up in trip. Kamaway and Thursday Girl complete the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Silent City
Successful twice last year, including a C&D handicap before runner-up in this corresponding race (beaten only by a subsequent listed winner). Has had only the 3 outings this season, returning from 11 weeks off when fifth of 13 at Kempton 22 days ago. Very interesting with recent run behind her.
Tahalel (IRE)
€500,000 Blue Point filly who failed to build on a promising debut at 2 yrs, but fared better on this season's return when third in maiden at Doncaster (7f) in April. Respectable second at Windsor (1m) next time, but more required as she goes handicapping after 5 months off.
Kimeko Glory
Proved as good as ever when winning amateur riders race at Salisbury (1m) in August. Has continued in decent heart since, having only her second run over 7f when sixth of 18 in another amateurs race at Ascot 20 days ago. Now gets Billy Loughnane on board for first time.
Cancelled (IRE)
Ex-Irish mare who was making her second start in cheekpieces when gaining a first handicap success at Leicester in July. However, she failed to back that up when last of 5 at the same course 11 days later. Off 11 weeks since.
Bridget's View
Without a win so far this year, leaving Ed Walker after first start of the campaign, but has run creditably fitted with headgear last 3 outings, fourth of 10 at Epsom (7f) 25 days ago. Has dropped below her last winning mark as she goes back up in trip.
Thursday Girl
Found one too good on first 3 starts this year, before landing the odds in a Nottingham maiden (8.5f) in July. Bumped into an improver when runner-up at Sandown (7f) on handicap debut and can have her latest run at Sandown excused (badly hampered). Could bounce back.
Mystic Moment
Fair 7f maiden winner for Eve Johnson Houghton in 2025. Ran up to best for current yard when second of 4 at Epsom (8.5f) in August and creditable effort next time, but found run of good form coming to a halt when well held at Southwell a week ago. Cheekpieces reached for.
Queen Tamara (IRE)
Made it third time lucky at Chepstow (7f) last summer and worked her way back to form this season when finishing third in handicap at Redcar (1m) in August. However, with cheekpieces applied she wasn't in the same form making all-weather debut at Lingfield 6 weeks ago.
Asteverdi
It's now almost 2 years since her last victory but has placed 3 times for her present stable this season, the latest when third at Kempton last month. Lesser effort when sixth of 10 at the same course 13 days ago, though she's capable of getting involved if on a going day.
Bearin Up (IRE)
Has shown improved form this season, winning over this C&D in May and at Hamilton the following month. Good third at Haydock on penultimate start, though does need to bounce back from below-par run at Leicester last time.
Gesayed
Successful in novice at Hamilton (6f) on sole outing last year. Ran to a similar level on first 2 starts this season, but took a backward step when seventh of 13 on handicap bow at Doncaster (7f) in June. Has been absent 4 months since.
Hamda's Joy (IRE)
Has been going the right way switched to handicaps on last 3 starts, getting off the mark in 10-runner contest at Brighton 24 days ago. That was just her second race on turf so she could still have more to offer with yard continuing to go well.
Poets Praise
Ran to a fair level in maidens, before suited by the step up to 1m when winning easily on handicap debut at Sandown in August. Disappointed at Southwell 2 weeks ago, though reared leaving the stalls. In good hands so no surprise to see her fare better.
Kamaway
Made a positive start to life in turf handicaps, winning at Yarmouth in May and Salisbury in June. After a couple of below-par efforts, got back on track when never-nearer third of 9 at Southwell 2 weeks ago, so she's one to note with a likely strong pace promising to suit.
Nanoscience
Took her form up a notch when winning 2 of first 3 starts this season, the latest a Wetherby handicap (7f) in June. Creditable efforts at this course the last twice, making the frame 13 days ago, and she could still have more to offer back up to 1m for first time this year.
Brighton Beach (IRE)
Off the mark when landing the odds in game fashion at Thirsk (1m) in August. Has made the frame in 2 handicaps over 1¼m since, though dipped below her previous form when fourth of 9 at Sandown on her latest outing. Remains early days for her leading yard.
Lady Vega (IRE)
Continued her race-by-race progression when winning 8-runner novice at Redcar (7f) last month, scoring readily. Will need to find more again as she goes up in trip for handicap debut.
Tronido
Regular front runner who has scored twice this year, though was seen to good effect for her latest success at Epsom in August. Has struggled to repeat that effort in 2 subsequent outings, well held at Kempton 13 days ago.
