FRIARY ROAD didn't go on from an impressive hurdling debut last season, but he could be worth another chance on just his fifth start in this discipline. Speisialta looks dangerous if putting it all together, while Combs is a player on the pick of his form.

Timeform Comments

Friary Road (IRE)
Dual bumper winner. Things didn't go to plan after winning smoothly on hurdling debut at Navan last season, however, he was ridden with an eye to the future in Punchestown novice on latest hurdle start in spring. In decent heart on the Flat this summer and may well do better back in this sphere.
Combs (IRE)
Fairly useful sort ran a cracker when third in listed handicap at Limerick in December. Back on song to smoothly open his hurdle account in a Kilbeggan maiden on return. Wasn't in same form in listed handicap a Listowel subsequently, however, he should find this less competitive.
Puppet Master (IRE)
Winner of 2025 Lingfield Derby Trial. In good heart at much lower level in both codes for present yard. Off the mark second time up over hurdles at Kilbeggan prior to chasing home fairly useful one at Perth. Something to find at the weights, for all he's getting the hang of things in this sphere.
Crystabel (IRE)
Sole success came over in mares event on handicap debut over C&D (good) in July. Confirmed herself back in form when beaten 3 lengths at Fairyhouse last time. Tough ask on these terms, with the forecast rain hardly an obvious positive.
Speisialta (IRE)
Quirky sort. Given too much rope when successful on hurdling debut over C&D in August. Improved when runner-up in a mares hurdle at Bellewstown subsequently. This a more realistic opportunity than at Gowran (2m) last time, and she has every chance if returning to the best of her form.
