ILBDARE can make the most of his return to a C&D over which he is 2-2, especially after looking better than ever when third at Roscommon 25 days ago. Broken Ice is feared most after a solid Fairyhouse third and is likely to be suited by this step back up in trip, while Mickey Cohen, who finished a place ahead of Broken Ice there, should again be thereabouts.

Timeform Comments

Boston Rajj (IRE)
Fairly useful hurdler at best. Left Gordon Elliott after making chasing debut in May. Better effort for current yard when 4 lengths second of 14 to Beckistine in 19.5 handicap hurdle at Limerick last time. Step back up in trip should suit.
Kevin's Pride (IRE)
Fair hurdler who ran to a similar level on his second chase start when fourth of 6 in a 25f Kilbeggan maiden in July, but he ran poorly in first-time blinkers over fences next time and fared no better back hurdling last time, leaving him with a bit to prove.
Ilbdare (IRE)
Both career victories have come over C&D, showing benefit of his reappearance when landing 16-runner event in June. Good efforts when placed at Kilbeggan and Roscommon on last 2 starts and looks sure to make a bold bid back at this venue.
Mickey Cohen (IRE)
Fair form without winning over hurdles but won a maiden chase at Downpatrick last season. Posted a career best when ½-length second of 13 to Smackwater Jack in 3m handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse last time. Should again be thereabouts.
Broken Ice (IRE)
Better over hurdles than fences these days and creditable efforts on his last 3 starts in this sphere, just caught a bit further back than first 2 when 4¾ lengths third of 13 to Smackwater Jack at Fairyhouse latest. Longer trip here should play more to his strengths.
Fizzle Rock (IRE)
Fair winning hurdler who has gone with no encouragement in 3 chase starts since returning from nearly 3 years off in September. Something to prove now back over hurdles.
Moorish Castle (IRE)
Showed modest form in maiden hurdles and has made no impact in 2 handicaps either side of a 7-month absence. Steps back up in trip.
Strong Contender (IRE)
Readily surpassed previous hurdling exploits when a dominant winner of Wexford handicap (3m) in August and followed up at this track (3¼m) 12 days later. Has remained in form since, never nearer when 6½ lengths fifth of 14 to Fire Coral at Listowel last time.
Johnny Cakes (FR)
Hit-and-miss performer who ran creditably when fifth of 12 in a handicap hurdle at Naas last time, though remains with just a solitary win to his name.
Joe's Turn (IRE)
Returned to form from out of the blue when winning 15-runner 23.5f handicap chase at Killarney 19 days ago. Returns to hurdling from just 1 lb higher but it's been some time since he managed to string a pair of positive performances together.
Spanish John (IRE)
Without a win over hurdles since 2023 but won twice on the Flat in 2025 and finished in the frame on 5 of his 6 starts over hurdles last season. Looked rusty on return despite being fit from the Flat and has stamina to prove now upped markedly in trip.
Vroomvroomboo (IRE)
Long-standing maiden handicapper who has been below form on all 4 starts this season and is unproven beyond 2½m.
