If there's a runner with the potential to be a lot better than their mark it's handicap debutant PALLADAS given he's created an excellent impression when successful both starts on all-weather. Murashah has made an excellent start for Ed Bethell and he can offer most resistance, while Invictus Gold could benefit from more severe headgear.

Timeform Comments

Redemption Road
First run since leaving David Marnane (for £260,000) when well-beaten last of 9 to Persica in Superior Mile at Haydock (1m) last month. Hood back on for handicap debut and mark looks stiff on balance.
Zoum Zoum
Smart form as a 3-y-o, though winless since winning at this meeting in 2024. Regular in pattern races and more miss than hit in 4-race campaign so far but the assessor has given him a chance eased in class.
Ellusive Butterfly (IRE)
Southwell maiden winner who was beaten twice in pattern/listed company earlier this season but found some improvement under a change of tactics when landing listed Surrey Stakes at Epsom (7f) in June. Matched that level when following up in the same grade at Carlisle but this mark asks a question.
Power Fizz (IRE)
Progressed in the early stages of last year and defied a 10-month absence in good style at Newcastle in March. Excuses next 2 starts during the summer and right back on the up when successful at York last month (7f). Didn't stay 1m as well as expected 2 weeks ago and he's quickly back at 7f.
Invictus Gold (IRE)
Without a win since last spring but ran up to his best when second in an Epsom handicap in June. Back into his shell since (albeit in deep races) with his quirks in evidence. Visor may help in that regard.
Murashah (IRE)
Impressive return from 19 months off when winning at Thirsk in April on first run for new connections wearing first-time hood and he cranked it up another notch when following up over 1m at Ripon in August. Up further 8 lb but limit not yet reached.
Palladas
750,000 gns yearling, Lope De Vega colt. Looked an exciting prospect when beating a smart one on debut at Kempton in January and 7 months on, he landed the odds in novice company at Southwell (both 1m). Open to considerable progress switched to turf and opening mark could be lenient.
U Sure Do (IRE)
Better than ever when supplementing his Haydock (7f) success with cosy victory at Ripon (6f, good to firm) in first-time blinkers last month. Seemed to find 5 lb rise in a better beyond him at York 2 weeks ago.
Egoli
Maiden/novice winner last summer who has stepped forward with each outing this season, resuming winning ways over C&D in July, just holding on. Confirmed he's in good order when fourth in a handicap at Glorious Goodwood, albeit seen to better effect than a few that day. Tongue tie added.
Inishbeg (IRE)
500,000 gns buy who got off the mark at the fourth attempt in 7f Thirsk maiden in April. Shaped better than result when eighth of 14 on 7f York handicap debut next time and returned to this trip on the back of a gelding operation, he produced a big career best when springing a surprise over C&D.
