Timeform View

DRYBURGH was unlucky not to score here in June and could hardly have shaped better when finding only one too good at Bath last time, so is taken to get off the mark in this competitive event. Mayaada is another leading player under a penalty, with Unchartedterritory also holding strong claims on the back of 2 improved efforts.

Timeform Comments

Kokanee (IRE)
Right back to his best with testing ground proving ideal when winning at Lingfield in June and produced his best effort since when a plugging-on third of 9 in handicap at Ayr (1¼m, heavy) 24 days ago, albeit carrying his head rather awkwardly. Conditions to suit again.
Ted Le Saux
Landed 1m novice at Newcastle in January but has failed to build on that, looking rather short of pace when fifth of 10 in handicap at Leicester (1¼m, good). Others preferred after 137 days off.
Blue Wonder (IRE)
Gained a first win at Haydock (1¼m) in May. Resumed her progress after a break with fluent success in 10-runner handicap at Goodwood (1¼m, heavy) last month but not in the same form under a patient ride when ninth of 11 in handicap at Salisbury (1¼m, good to soft) 22 days ago.
Naples (IRE)
Signed off for Paddy Twomey with victory in 1m maiden at Listowel last September. Yet to show that form for his current yard though and failed to beat a rival in handicap at Southwell (1½m) last time.
Yermanthere (IRE)
Enhanced a fine Ripon record when doubling his tally for the year last month. Hasn't been competitive away from that track this season and hasn't posed much of a threat at Musselburgh/Ayr on his last 2 outings.
Mayaada (IRE)
Patchy profile overall but was strong in the betting with Murphy taking the ride and proved better than ever to win a 10-runner handicap at Nottingham (8.3f, good to soft) 9 days ago. Had a bit in hand there, so enters calculations under a penalty.
Unchartedterritory (IRE)
Exuberant sort who opened account in 9f Carlisle handicap (soft) in June. Improved efforts when placed on his last 2 starts, most recently when third of 12 in handicap at Hamilton (1½m, soft, 7/2) 32 days ago. Application of hood looks a positive move.
Dryburgh (IRE)
Strong-travelling maiden who looked a shade unfortunate over C&D in June. Reportedly finished lame at Ayr next time but was right back to form when runner-up in a 10-runner handicap at Bath 24 days ago, making up plenty of ground late after missing the break. Player.
Geo (IRE)
Consistent filly who didn't have to improve when a narrow winner at Ayr (soft) last month and came from further back than ideal when third of 13 in handicap at Hamilton (8.3f, soft, 20/1) 25 days ago. Should give her running but others perhaps make more appeal at the weights.
Draupnir
Placed twice at the start of the season at Thirsk and Hamilton and bounced back when ¾-length second of 7 to Yermanthere at Ripon (1¼m, good to soft) early last month. In front for a long way despite setting solid fractions when third of 9 at Hamilton (9f, soft) 33 days ago and he's respected.
North Beach (IRE)
Showed ability in good races at Newmarket and Newbury in the spring for Andrew Balding but went off at long odds and ran below that level on yard debut at Wolverhampton last month. Makes handicap debut in first-time cheekpieces.
Magician Of Riga (IRE)
Won back-to-back all-weather handicaps at up to 1½m in April. Shaped well from a long way back when fifth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f, 11/2) 18 days ago and that makes him of some interest, for all softer conditions remain an unknown quantity.
You Sexy Thing (IRE)
Off the mark at Sandown last August but hasn't won since. Ran well when fourth of 8 in a handicap over 7f at Ascot last month and did enough to suggest he remains in good nick having been set plenty to do at Ayr since. First-time cheekpieces go on.
Fans Favourite
Has built a remarkable record with all 3 wins this season coming in the mud, latest at Beverley in August. Left on the back foot after an early stumble here next time but was below expectations with conditions anticipated to suit when only eighth of 12 (7/1) at Hamilton (1½m, soft) 32 days ago.
Reveur (IRE)
Fair 1¼m all-weather winner for Christopher Head in France. Best not judged on either start for present yard, going well when denied a run/not persevered with once held at Wolverhampton latest. Now 6 lb lower than his original British mark but widest draw isn't ideal.
Naturalia
Strong-travelling sort who gained a deserved first win of 2026 at Ayr (good) in August. Arrives here on the back of 2 solid in-frame efforts, better than the result having met significant interference when fourth of 12 in handicap at Ayr (1¼m, heavy) 15 days ago.
Cotswold Cottage
Dual winner in 2025, including when making all at Haydock on final outing of the season. Missed 11 months prior to this season's belated comeback but failed to build on her return when only tenth of 11 in handicap at Wolverhampton (9.5f) 18 days ago.
Persian Flaw
Shaped as if handicaps were the plan for when mid-field at best in 2 starts in novice/maiden company in the spring and failed to beat a rival in a 10-runner novice at Kempton in August. Very hard to make a case for from stiff opening mark.
Ghost Story (IRE)
Yet to score this season but largely holding her form well, creditable fourth of 14 in handicap at Kempton (11f) last month but seemed to struggle in heavy ground at Ayr 2 weeks ago. Place claims if able to bounce aback.
Kinross Claret (IRE)
Still very lightly raced but shaped better than the distance beaten suggests after more than a year off when good seventh of 22 in handicap (33/1) at this course (1m, good to soft) in March, first home in group. Another 6-month absence is a bit of a concern, though.
