Timeform View

MYRETOWN ended last season on a whimper but should benefit from the marked step back up in trip and is taken to make the most of the significant drop in grade now reunited with Patrick Wadge for the first time since his 2025 Ultima success at the Cheltenham Festival. New Order returns to action with his yard firmly amongst the winners, so it’s reasonable to believe he can bounce back.

Timeform Comments

Myretown (IRE)
Most progressive form in handicap chases in 2024/25, bounding clear to take the Ultima Handicap on final outing. Proved more miss than hit last season but would’ve likely won the Peter Marsh off a 5 lb higher mark in January but for a bad mistake and this represents a considerably drop in grade.
New Order (IRE)
Ran well in defeat on 3 of his 6 chase starts last season, including when runner-up in the Great Yorkshire Chase at Doncaster (3m) in January. Below form on final 2 outings but reappears with his yard going well and a bounce back is certainly possible.
Mumford's Magic (IRE)
Fitted with first-time cheekpieces, got back on the scoresheet in convincing style in 3-runner handicap chase at Southwell (3¼m) 11 days ago, though his suspect jumping was put under little scrutiny as he was left with just 2 out-of-form rivals to beat. Up in grade and 2 lb out of the weights.
Muskerry Rock (IRE)
Narrowly denied in 2 handicap hurdles before scoring readily over fences at Newton Abbot (3¼m) for Dan Skelton in July. Disappointing next 2 starts, including on yard debut but did take a step back in the right direction returned to hurdling at Chepstow last time. 2 lb out of the weights.
