Timeform View

CAPTAIN PARMA went backwards from an encouraging recent run when last of 9 at Wolverhampton just over 3 weeks ago, but his overall record on all-weather suggests he's well worth another chance, especially now dropping back into 0-70 company. Shaw Park and Gladiadora are a couple from the bottom of the weights to consider.

Timeform Comments

Captain Parma (IRE)
Second success when seeing off 7 rivals at Chelmsford (7f) in February and took a step back in the right direction returned to all-weather after 4 months off when fifth of 12 at Wolverhampton in September. Disappointing back there last time but probably worth another chance back down in grade.
Packetofbiscuits
Enjoyed a fine spell on all-weather earlier in the year, recording back-to-back wins at Southwell. Bounced back to form after a quiet spell when close second at Yarmouth but followed a below-par effort with an even worse one at York 15 days ago.
Anthropologist
Put a luckless run behind him when fourth of 11 in 7f handicap at Newcastle 29 days ago, though had no obvious excuses on the day. Unchanged mark.
Red Hat Eagle
Fifteen runs since last win in 2024 but has been shaping quite well lately, doing well to finish as close as he did given how freely he raced when fifth of 11 at Kempton (7f) 15 days ago. On a good mark but will need to settle better.
Espanita (IRE)
Gained a first success away from Wolverhampton at Lingfield (1m) in September. Showed even better form when runner-up on next 2 starts but found good run coming to a halt at Newcastle last time. Bounce back required.
Akabusi
Successful at Newmarket (6f) in May and back in good order for new stable/minus headgear with in-frame efforts at Yarmouth and at aforementioned track. However, ran below form back at 7f 15 days ago and remains unproven at the trip.
Finn Ironside
Goes well at Newcastle, recording back-to-back victories at that course (7f) in recent weeks. Needs to prove he's as effective away from that venue, though.
Ribble Emperor (IRE)
Placed 4 times in maiden company but failed to impress with his attitude when down the field in 6f handicap at Listowel (6.3f, good) on final outing for P. C. O'Donnell in May. Since acquired for 25,000 gns and worth a look in the betting.
Janora (IRE)
Steady improvement all 3 starts in novice company at Newcastle and is a possible improver now sent handicapping, though her opening mark could have been kinder.
Flash Rascal
Signed off with 6f win at Haydock for Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Insole in April. Has yet to fire for new yard, though did at least take a step back in the right direction in first-time cheekpieces when sixth of 11 at Kempton (7f) 15 days ago. Task is to now build on that.
Santiago Boy
Runner-up on first 2 handicap starts at Kempton in August but below form since, proving too free back at 7f last time. Blinkers refitted.
Piscean Star
Has yet to add to his debut success and ran no sort of race back on all-weather at Kempton on most recent outing. Something to prove in first-time blinkers.
Gladiadora (IRE)
Building up a better record on all-weather, looking better than ever when scoring here (1m) in September. Easy enough to excuse her effort there 9 days later having been caught wide from a high draw, so worth treating as if still in form.
Shaw Park (IRE)
Made it 3 good runs over 3 different trips this month when third of 9 over C&D (9/2) last week. He remains below his last winning mark and must enter calculations.
