A tough call to split in-form pair LUCY THE WIRE and Getarose, with James Owen's charge narrowly preferred following her breakthrough success on the Flat last time.

Timeform Comments

Hello Sweety
Quirky mare. Typically ridden positively when making it 4 wins from 8 starts at Bangor last month. Blotted her copybook when reluctant to race at Stratford 9 days ago. Certainly capable back in calmer waters, though a risky betting proposition at present.
Lucy The Wire (IRE)
Twice a winner over this trip (on contrasting ground). Ran up to her best when second in small-field event at Stratford latest start in this sphere. Since opened her account on the Flat for excellent yard. May well make it a cross-code double if translating that improvement to hurdles.
Silvereen
Unexposed 4-y-o who is bred for further. Aided by superior jumping/the run of the race when landing a thin novice at Ludlow (2m) final start last season. Opening mark demands more again, though.
Mavis Pike
Won pair of handicap hurdles at Fakenham in 2024/5 season. Chasing career hasn't gone to plan since falling when running well at Fakenham this time last year, not seeing out her race on reappearance earlier this month. Now 1 lb below her winning mark on return to hurdling.
Prettylady (FR)
Improved when starting 2-2 in handicaps at Stratford/Southwell. Very much all or nothing 4 starts since, winning 4-runner Bangor handicap before only beating 1 home at Uttoxeter latest. .
Getarose (IRE)
Capitalised on a reduced mark in a weak race at Plumpton (2m, good to firm) on return. Ran at least as well in defeat when 1¼ lengths third of 8 at Chepstow (2m, good to soft) off this mark last time. Looks to have a very solid chance at the weights.
