Timeform View

A really tight handicap. Low-mileage FIGHT YOUR CORNER took another step forward when narrowly denied over C&D last time and gets a narrow vote ahead of Get Outta Here, who has shaped on a few occasions like one who can definitely win more handicaps. Drifts Away and Gilet complete the shortlist.

Timeform Comments

Drifts Away
Recorded back-to-back wins at Yarmouth and Newmarket when cheekpieces went on in July. Responded well to a headgear change when close second back at Yarmouth in blinkers (retained) 3 weeks ago. Player.
Fight Your Corner (IRE)
Lightly-raced 5-y-o. Resumed with C&D win in January and bettered that form when narrowly denied over C&D 10 weeks ago. High on the list from his handy inside stall.
Loblolly (IRE)
Off the mark at Epsom in first-time cheekpieces (retained since) in August. Good second of 13 over C&D 26 days ago. Likely to be competitive again.
Warning Sign (FR)
All 3 wins for this yard have come in amateur rider events under David Dunsdon, the latest at Goodwood (1m, heavy) in June. Freshened up since a lesser run at Sandown in August. Others are more persuasive.
Breathe Easy (IRE)
Won a 7f course maiden in January and followed up in 1m Southwell handicap in February. Absent since but brings obvious unexposed potential for his top yard. Well drawn, too.
Uniting (IRE)
Best form on all-weather, including a C&D win last November. Off since going close at Southwell in April (final start for Ian Williams). Good draw but peak fitness has to be taken on trust.
Gilet (IRE)
Solid all-weather performer who was a creditable sixth of 13 over C&D 26 days ago, left poorly placed. Being eased another 2 lb puts him back on a workable mark.
Get Outta Here (FR)
Stylish scorer on handicap bow at Lingfield (turf) in June and has shaped well when placing in a trio of 1m handicaps on turf since. Has a longer trip and soft ground as possible excuses for a below-par effort at Nottingham recently. Considered back at 1m.
Crossbar (IRE)
Created a good impression when making a winning debut over 7f here in May. Third on turf at Wetherby in June and back from a break to finish fifth of 13 in 7f course handicap 33 days ago. First attempt at 1m. Remains unexposed but the outside stall could be tricky.
Musical Angel
Dual winner in 2025 for Andrew Balding who produced her best effort for present stable when second at Epsom (7f) in September. Two lesser performances have followed, including here 12 days ago. First attempt at 1m.
Bubbles Wonky (IRE)
Consistent sort who gained a deserved first win for his current yard in a Class 5 handicap at Sandown (1m) in August. Creditable in-frame efforts at Windsor and Epsom since and he was placed over C&D in the spring.
Studious (IRE)
Ended run of placed efforts when scoring at Southwell (1m) April but 3 below-par runs have followed, including over C&D latest.
Fallacious Promise
Won 3 times on polytrack in July/August, including C&D. Couldn't get involved in a steadily-run race here last time and that defeat shouldn't necessarily be taken to suggest the handicapper has got him.
Bold Suitor
Benefited from a good ride when winning narrowly at Lingfield in April and bounced back to form when scoring over 7f here last month. Good second of 9 over C&D 12 days ago, never nearer having had to pick way through.
