Timeform View

A chance is taken on James Owen's new recruit BRAVE LEADER, with confidence in his chance increased should the betting vibes be strong. Ataturk doesn't have the easiest draw but he's made a positive start to his handicap career and is next on the list ahead of Kathleen Mary, who wasn't far behind Hughie Morrison's charge when the pair clashed at Leicester recently and Oisin Murphy takes the reins this time.

Timeform Comments

Boogie Inthejungle
Maiden on the Flat and over hurdles for Gavin Cromwell in Ireland. Off 5 months ahead of stable debut. Best watched unless the betting suggests otherwise.
Kathleen Mary
Maiden who has yet to make a significant impact in handicaps but did offer encouragement for new yard when fifth of 13 at Leicester (1¼m, good) 13 days ago, plugging on after meeting trouble. Oisin Murphy rides.
Ataturk
Fair maiden who has finished a close second in 2 of his 3 handicaps, latterly beaten a head at Leicester (1¼m, good) 13 days ago, with reopposing Kathleen May and Somethingintheair back in fifth/sixth. Makes polytrack debut. Merits consideration.
Uzincso
Veteran is a 7-time course winner but his latest was over a year ago and he was well held here last time.
Golden Caviar (IRE)
Hasn't improved for the switch to handicaps on turf and it remains to be seen whether a return to all-weather for just a second time improves matters.
Brave Leader
Maiden who failed to make a significant impact in handicaps for Tom Ward (9-length third latest) but his mark has come down and he has to be of interest having been purchased by shrewd connections and switched to a yard with an excellent record with new recruits.
Katalyst
Seen to good effect when shedding maiden over C&D last month and found out off just 2 lb back here 3 weeks ago.
Heart Sign
Isn't entirely straightforward but he overcame another slow start to get off the mark in 8-runner handicap at Chepstow (1½m, soft) in August (final start for Jack Morland). New connections acquired him for 16,000 gns last month.
Fizzy Bear (IRE)
Maiden but he's reached the frame in 3 of his last 4 handicaps, including beaten only a neck at Brighton (1¼m, good to soft) 11 days ago. Ought to be competitive again.
Open To Offers (IRE)
Well held in 4 outings over 7f/1m here, including handicap debut last month. It remains to be seen whether this significantly longer trip helps.
Somethingintheair
Maiden who left Stan Moore prior to finishing sixth of 13 in handicap at Leicester (1¼m, good) 13 days ago but a couple of today's rivals were ahead of him.
Indian Mary (FR)
Down the field in 3 qualifying runs but appeals as a potential improver now moving into his first handicap.
Baron Wagstaff
Left his first 2 handicap efforts well behind when narrowly denied over 1½m at Wolverhampton 35 days ago. Claims if he can back that up.
Tales Old As Time
Lightly-raced maiden who possibly just had his stamina stretched when fifth of 7 over 1½m here 17 days ago.
