Timeform View

There was plenty to like about ROY LANE's latest C&D second on his first outing for James Fanshawe and he can go one better now. Fellow lightly-raced 3-y-o Preferred is second choice ahead of Everydaysasaturday, who made a positive start for the Tony Carroll stable when fourth at Brighton 3 weeks ago.

Timeform Cash Out Hints

Roy Lane traded at a low of 10.50 and Betfair SP of 10.59 when losing last time, a race in which it raced prominently.

Timeform Comments

Nezeeh (IRE)
Lost his way for Denis Hogan in Ireland and no show all 5 starts for current yard minus headgear. Could only consider if backed.
Wild Act
Headstrong sort who failed to beat a rival on his 5f Windsor handicap debut when last seen in May. Very lightly raced but can only really watch.
Express Train (IRE)
Winner of a Leicester novice last summer. Has generally struggled in handicaps but ran better than for a while when fourth of 11 at Wolverhampton (6f) 55 days ago. Needs to back that up now.
Tie Fighter (IRE)
Showed fair form without winning for Ed Dunlop but no significant impact in a pair of 7f outings on this surface at Lingfield since joining Simon Dow. Easing in the weights but need to see more.
Diamond Dreamer
Not scored since last March but has made the frame on several occasions this year, including fourth of 9 at Brighton (5.3f, good) 28 days ago.
Preferred
Lightly-raced sprinter who hasn't seriously threatened in her 2 handicaps but a stumble at the start offers an excuse at Wolverhampton 3 weeks ago and she's been eased another 2 lb since. Good draw.
Roy Lane
Stepped up on his efforts for Karl Burke when second of 12 in C&D handicap 6 weeks ago. Had subsequent winners behind him in third and sixth on that occasion. Worth a chance to build on that promise.
Esplanade (IRE)
Dark Angel filly out of a borderline useful mare but she hasn't shown much in 4 starts so far, including a handicap.
Addictive (IRE)
Maiden who looks to have gone the wrong way since leaving George Boughey, for all he may have needed the run when trailing the field over 7f here 3 weeks ago.
Everydaysasaturday (IRE)
No impact in handicaps for Declan Carroll but his latest fourth at Brighton suggests he may have more to offer for a new trainer who is a master at winning races at a lowly level.
Southbank (IRE)
C&D winner at a similar time last year. Recent efforts haven't been obviously encouraging but he's dangerously well handicapped again.
Stapleford Park
Sole victory came back in 2024 for Charlie Fellowes. Best effort for this stable when second at Lingfield in March but below form in his 5 subsequent outings.
