CAYENNE appeals on paper and is taken to provide his excellent yard with a winner from its first bumper runner of the season. Always Proud showed ability in a notably valuable event at Newbury on his debut in March and should be up to making even more of an impact in these calmer waters, while Mon Missel ought to be suited by this more galloping track and must enter calculations, too.

Timeform Comments

Absence Of Ego (IRE)
Sea Moon gelding purchased for £58,000 after finishing runner-up on his sole outing in Irish points in May. Yard going well and one to note in the betting ahead of Rules debut.
Koa Beau (IRE)
Hinted at temperament amidst ability starting out in a hood when third of 6 in 2m bumper at Kelso (good) in May. Wouldn't be sure to build on that opening effort, though.
Mystic Marie
Outstrip gelding. Half-brother to 2 winners on Flat, including 7f/7.5f winner Lyndari. Dam maiden on Flat (stayed 7f). Yard 0-56 in bumpers and not sure to possess the required stamina for this game on breeding.
Regal Thunder (IRE)
€45,000 Walk In The Park gelding. Finished third on both completed starts in Irish points and offered a bit to work on switched to a bumper when a remote third in a C&D event on Rules debut in April. Probably more one for the longer term.
Always Proud
£19,000 Jack Hobbs gelding. Dam, 1½m winner, closely related to 13f bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Jam Session. Showed ability when seventh of 20 in valuable bumper at Newbury (2m) on debut in March, his effort just petering out late on. Obvious player with sights now lowered.
Batchelor's Lad (IRE)
Maxios gelding. Half-brother to very smart hurdler Jason The Militant and useful hurdler/chaser Will Carver. Offered something to work on when second of 6 in bumper at Doncaster (17f) on debut in March, not knocked about. Entitled to do better.
Cayenne
52,000 gns 3-y-o, Ghaiyyath gelding. Half-brother to 3 winners, including fair hurdler Maple. Dam 10.5f winner on Flat in France. Newcomer of obvious interest for stable with superb record in this sphere.
Mon Missel (FR)
€16,000 3-y-o, Goliath du Berlais gelding. Runner-up completed start in Irish points and didn't shape badly considering the emphasis on speed seemed against him when third of 8 in 2m Stratford bumper on recent debut. This more galloping track ought to suit him better and he's a leading contender.
Rip It Up
Frontiersman gelding who was backed at long odds and showed plenty to work on when fourth of 9 in 2m bumper at Wetherby on debut in March, the penny starting to drop late on. Entitled to improve on that opening effort for yard which had a big winner at Cheltenham on Friday.
