DARK SUMMIT is taken to build on his 2 promising placed efforts since joining Paul Flynn. Starting Monday, the thriving Inver Bay and low-mileage Emmet Mullins inmate The Rock Factor head the many possible dangers. Last year's winner You Make Me Smile would also need considering if getting a run.

Timeform Comments

Dark Summit
Winner in France. Placed just once from 9 starts for Denis Hogan but much better signs when placed over 1¼m at Navan and the Curragh since joining Paul Flynn. A must for the shortlist.
Metamorpheus (IRE)
Successful at Sligo in May and good runner-up efforts over hurdles in early August. Good run back on the Flat when third of 12 in handicap (17/2) at Bellewstown (12.5f, soft) 27 days ago.
The Rock Factor (IRE)
Failed to improve in his first handicap (1m) but still early days for an excellent yard which steps him up markedly in trip back up from 137 days ago. Respected, particularly if the betting speaks for him.
Starting Monday (IRE)
Course winner. Creditable third of 24 in handicap at the Curragh (1¼m, good to soft, 80/1) 7 days ago. Can make presence felt again.
Ellaat
Veteran who has won 3 times on the Flat and 4 times over hurdles. Runner-up over hurdles for Charles Coakley in May. Has rejoined former yard since a lesser run on the Flat in June.
Inver Bay (IRE)
Arrives on a hat-trick after Roscommon handicap wins over hurdles and on the Flat this autumn. Further progress can't be ruled out in her current mood.
Pure Granite (IRE)
Got off the mark in 12-runner handicap (11/2) at Naas (10.7f, soft) 16 days ago, driven out. Should remain competitive off 5 lb higher.
Calamint (IRE)
Placed twice on the level in the spring but not quite in the same form over hurdles or in a Navan handicap on the Flat this autumn.
Sands Castle (IRE)
16/1, below-form eighth of 16 in handicap at Gowran (8.3f, soft) 8 days ago. Significantly back up in trip. Cheekpieces on first time. Others are more obvious.
Surrey Force (FR)
Struggled on the Flat and over hurdles when last seen. Returns from 9 months off with something to prove.
Sweetie Too (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden. Respectable seventh of 14 in handicap at Down Royal (11f, good to soft, 14/1) 29 days ago. More will be needed.
Limestone Red (IRE)
Dundalk winner in January. Some creditable efforts since but latest seventh of 14 at Down Royal wasn't one of them.
Omissions (IRE)
Lightly-raced maiden. Hooded and tongue tied first time, thirteenth of 16 on handicap debut at Gowran (9.5f, good to firm) 76 days ago. Significantly up in trip.
Premier Princess (IRE)
50/1, respectable seventh of 14 in handicap at Thurles (12.7f, good to soft) 19 days ago. Tongue strap back on. Needs to find more.
Tintinabulla (IRE)
13/2, creditable third of 11 in handicap at Bellewstown (12.4f, soft) 26 days ago, albeit with the benefit of an enterprising ride. Less exposed than a lot of these.
Chant D'or (IRE)
Low-mileage 4-y-o who posted his best effort in handicaps when fifth of 14 at Dundalk (1½m) 32 days ago. Cheekpieces go on after that.
Duleek Street (IRE)
Off 14 months, 11 lengths twelfth of 16 to Inver Bay in handicap (28/1) at Roscommon (1½m, soft) 15 days ago. Entitled to come on for the run but needed to see more.
The Monday Club
Lightly-raced maiden. Twelfth of 14 in handicap at Down Royal (11f, good to soft) 29 days ago. Tongue strap on first time.
Duke Of Leggagh (IRE)
Course winner but struggling for form at present, beaten over 9 lengths when fifth of 12 in handicap (10/1) at Bellewstown (12.5f, soft) 27 days ago. RESERVE.
You Make Me Smile (IRE)
Came good last October (including victory in this race) and did so again with a win over hurdles at Sligo on Friday. Following a similar path and a big player if getting a run. RESERVE.
Mapa (CAN)
Remains a maiden after 25 Flat runs. 33/1, eighth of 12 in handicap at the Curragh (1½m, soft) 23 days ago, very slowly away. RESERVE.
