Timeform View

THE GIFT SHOP hammered a next-time-out winner on sole outing in Irish points and, having subsequently transferred to the Skeltons, he makes obvious appeal. Par Avion has already run to a level good enough to win plenty of bumpers and merits respect for a yard that took this race in 2024 with unbeaten hurdler Idaho Sun. De Inovator is another to note on his first start under Rules having joined a good outfit.

Timeform Comments

He's Happy (IRE)
€31,000 5-y-o, Capri gelding. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Bob Cigar and a point winner. Runner-up only start in Irish points (Feb 7).
Let's Have A Drink
Sans Frontieres gelding who showed some ability despite not being seen to best effect when fourth of 6 in a slowly-run C&D bumper on debut in June. Improvement required to figure in what looks a notably stronger affair here, though.
Par Avion
Left his debut form well behind when second of 12 in 2m bumper at Taunton (good to soft) in February, keeping on well from 2f out despite still looking green. Well up to winning one of these on that evidence.
The Gift Shop (FR)
£42,000 5-y-o, Manatee gelding. Dam (h102), maiden hurdler, half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser (stayed 21f) Ballyhill. Hammered a next-time-out winner on sole outing in Irish points and of obvious interest having transferred to the Skeltons.
De Inovator (IRE)
€30,000 3-y-o, £72,000 4-y-o, Order of St George gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner/fairly useful hurdler Loaded And Locked. Dam 8.4f winner. Runner-up sole outing in Irish points in May and has since joined an excellent yard.
Straw Merchant (IRE)
€60,000 3-y-o, Walk In The Park gelding. Half-brother to bumper winner Is She Real. Dam, lightly raced over hurdles/fences in France, half-sister to French hurdler/chaser (17f-3½m winner) Fayas and French 2¼m/19f hurdle/chase winner Detalasse. Hails from stable in excellent form at present.
Miss Spec
Passing Glance mare. Sister to 2½m hurdle winner Best Mate Dave, stays 3m. Dam (c86/h93), ungenuine 3¼m chase winner, half-sister to fairly useful chaser (stayed 3¼m) Kick For Touch. Dead-heated for first sole outing in point bumpers (Feb 8).
Hottentotta
Scorpion half-sister to useful chaser Tile Tapper (stayed 4¼m) and fair hurdler Hot Ryan (stayed 3¼m). Bred to require a much greater test of stamina than bumpers provide and showed only greenness on her recent debut at Chepstow.
Storm Cracker
Much improved from debut having been ridden in stark contrast in a first-time hood when second of 10 in 2m bumper at Hereford (soft) in February, collared near finish having had the run of the race. Further progress needed back from 8 months off.
