KNIGHTON showed up well for a long way on his return from 5 months off at Market Rasen recently and is put forward as the answer from the same mark, given he's entitled to strip fitter for the outing and remains relatively unexposed. Calibos and Zaraquelle may also have their best days as hurdlers ahead of them, so they are feared most.

Timeform Comments

Dunstall Star
Confirmed debut promise when getting up late in slowly-run Exeter bumper. Runner-up to a Skelton hotpot on first completed start over hurdles at Warwick and shaped as if back in form following a breathing operation when fourth in a recent Sedgefield novice (17f). Hood on for handicap debut.
Thepassingcyclone
Lightly-raced 6-y-o who took a big step forward when third of 11 in novice hurdle at Fontwell (2¼m, good to soft) 25 days ago. Into handicaps now and needs more again.
Knighton
Ran to fairly useful level sole start on Flat (1½m). No match for a fairly useful prospect on handicap bow at Ludlow. Loomed up before being worried out of it by a more experienced one in a match at Huntingdon (2m) in May and showed up well for a long way again on his recent return at Market Rasen.
Tazman Dan (IRE)
Showed a bit on the middle of 3 runs in bumpers in Ireland and also caught the eye second time up over hurdles in a first-time hood when fourth of 7 in 2m Uttoxeter novice 24 days ago, making late headway. Has been handed a stiff-looking mark but strikes as one with more to offer all the same.
Calibos
Fair 1¼m Flat winner who showed an aptitude for hurdling when fourth of 8 at Huntingdon in early-March. Fared best of the also-rans without progressing from that initial effort at Market Rasen in May and made more impact sent handicapping when third at Worcester (2m) 3 weeks ago. Respected.
Zaraquelle (FR)
Little impact on Flat for Ed Dunlop but opened her account with plenty in hand at Wolverhampton in July. Failed to translate that improvement back to hurdling when second in 2½m Hereford handicap recently, though it remains early days in this sphere.
Northern Rose (IRE)
Twice a runner up at Stratford prior to belatedly opening her account in an 11-runner handicap at Uttoxeter (2m) in July. Has run creditably on 2 of her 3 completed starts since and should remain competitive.
Papa Oscar
Limited on the Flat and has yet to offer much encouragement over hurdles, faring little better than previously switched to a handicap at Stratford on final outing in June.
No Mean Feat (IRE)
After 5 months off (had a breathing operation), took advantage of his much reduced mark when winning 9-runner handicap hurdle at Fontwell (2¼m) in September. Ran no sort of race back there last time, though.
